The feature race of the day at Wolverhampton is a Fillies Handicap where just 7 go to post. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.
IN SUMMARY: Flower Of Love should put up a bold show in order to dispel the memory of her last race when only managing 5th at Kempton after winning impressively back in September on only her 3rd start. She should go well but may have to settle for second best behind CHANDOS BELLE who had some good form in France and Germany when trained by Christian Von Der Recke. That entitle her to massive respect in this field and she can make a winning debut for her yard who have had few winners recently.
1 Miss Minuty – Won here back at the start of last year by 3 ¾ lengths and followed up next time out at Lingfield, scoring by ½ length. Hasn’t won since last September and was well below form when only 7th of 12 in a Handicap over C&D 33 days ago and hard to fancy again today.
2 Chandos Belle – Previously trained by Christian Von Der Recke in Germany and having first start for her new yard since running into 3rd at Le Crois-Laroche 32 days ago on Soft ground. Won nicely at Amiens in June and decent form since. Interesting on debut.
3 Flower Of Love – Only 5th of 12 in a Handicap at Kempton 3 weeks ago. Only had 4 career runs this year, winning on her 3rd start to just get up at Chester in September. Can be forgiven last run and this lightly- raced filly out makes her Tapeta debut today. Has a chance to notch a 2nd win for her in-form yard and jockey.
4 Sunscape – Has shown muddling form so far this year with sole win coming at Batch at the end of August beating Miss Minuty on that occasion by a head. Well below form on last start when only 7th of 15 in a Newbury Handicap so plenty to prove here back up in trip and with a hood back on today.
5 Ominotago – Yet to win for Michael Appleby on sole start here since leaving William Knight, when only 7th of 11. Off for 14 months prior to that and makes Handicap debut today, upped in trip. Market should reveal chances and best watched for now.
6 Zeehan – Some solid form at the start of her career but that seemed to tail off judging by her last two starts, finishing down the field and 10th of 12 at Musselburgh in June and then stone last the next time out. Had a break since then and that will need to have sharpened her up considerably if she is to land a blow here.
7 Topaling – Has won here no less than 4 times in his career including a hat-trick in 2014-15. His last win came here in March when finishing ½ length clear of an 8-runner field. Poor since, including 6th of 8 at Nottingham 163 days ago and will need to improve massively on her first start after a break to trouble these.
