Having developed an interest in racing whilst in college some years ago, James has worked in many areas of the industry, including a stint hiding his face on radio! From 2008 until 2017, he ran a successful tipping service and has had shares in numerous horses including the wonderful Fast Shot. Unsurprisingly given some of the horses he has bought shares in, his punting passions lie in sprint handicaps on both the turf and All-Weather surfaces!

Horse Racing tipster James Boyle has three Value Bet selections for today.

6:05 Newcastle – Shallow Hal – 1pt @ 8/1

SHALLOW HAL is yet to build on what was a promising juvenile campaign but the draw hasn’t been kind to him the last twice and he has had a wind-op since taking part in the Ayr Bronze Cup. That could help to bring about improvement, likewise the addition of cheekpieces replacing a visor, and this stiffer venue will play more to his strengths than the speed tracks he has been running at. Off a mark of 83 in a Class 4, he’s dangerously treated if he’s on proper terms with himself after the wind-op.

7:35 Newcastle – Pinarella – 1pt @ 9/1

Back in a fillies-only affair, PINARELLA could be set to go well. The 3-year-old ran an odd race over C&D last time out, racing keenly early doors, getting badly outpaced and then flying home into a mid-division spot late on. For one who has displayed early toe before, it was a funny effort but I’d rather take some of the positives from the way she came home and hope the first part of the race pans out better this time. A handier sit might be up for grabs today and Paul Mulrennan taking the reins is a plus-point.

8:05 Newcastle – Kibaar – 1pt @ 14/1

KIBAAR got the nod last week in a similar race and I’m going to take a chance on him again. On that occasion, he seemed to be going strongly towards the rear of the field but had to switch to get a run, at which point he ended up finding another blocked path. Afterwards, his chance was gone and he wasn’t pressed too hard in the closing stages. The lack of raw pace that day would not have helped him and with a faster early gallop likely here, better is expected if the gaps come when they’re needed!
