IN SUMMARY: Mori finished second in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot and, although she was poor on her latest start, a bounce back would be no surprise. Preference, however, is for TO ETERNITY who won a Listed race on the July course back in August by a wide margin and had excuses on her latest start when last at Newbury. She is capable of much better and, with further improvement likely, she should take all the beating under James Doyle.
ELBERETH – Has been running well in group company for Andrew Balding, last seen finishing second in a Group 2 at Veliefendi (Turkey) in September. This isn’t much tougher and, with conditions to suit, she’s likely to be on the premises. That said, her turf record does leave her vulnerable to progressive types.
TO ETERNITY – Highly progressive sort for John Gosden who won a Listed race on the July Course in August by six lengths and she had excuses when last at Newbury on her last appearance. She’s back against her own sex here and if resuming her progress she should be very tough to beat under James Doyle.
APPHIA – Lightly raced sort for Hugo Palmer whose only win remains a maiden, but she’s run well in four races since in pattern class. She wasn’t beaten far in the Chester Stakes three weeks ago and a similar performance would see her as an each way contender, but she does need to improve if she’s to be winning this.
COCONUT CREME – Only five runs thus far for this daughter of Cape Cross, finishing fourth in a Salisbury Listed race on her latest start. She plugged on but was never the pace to challenge and a similar story is likely today as she has plenty to find if she’s to be involved with the principals.
ELAS RUBY – Runner for John Gosden who’s won the last two runnings of this race, but she does need to improve on a fourth at Deauville in Group 3 company to feature. Conditions will suit and she has previously won at Listed level, so does have each way claims under Frankie Dettori.
FLEUR FORSYTE – Improving at a rapid rate and produced a career best on her fifth start to win a York Listed race very comfortably, clearing away by two lengths. This is tougher and she needs a career best again, but she’s going the right way and further progress would be no surprise.
ISABEL DE URBINA – Has been competing in pattern company since a debut win and she’s been running to a fair level, finishing second in a Listed race here on the July course in the summer. She remains with potential for better and has place possibilities if improving again under Pat Dobbs.
JET STREAMING – Limitations have been firmly exposed in recent starts, winning a Handicap at Galway in August before being readily dismissed in a Premier Handicap at the Curragh earlier this month. She’s simply not good enough to be winning this and is brushed aside.
MORI – Progressive for Sir Michael Stoute, finishing second in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot on only her fourth start. She does need to bounce back from a flop at York on her latest start, but that would be no surprise and she’s a leading contender at her best.
PLEASANT SURPRISE – Won a Doncaster Fillies’ Handicap back in July and has finished second the last twice, including a Listed race at Saint-Cloud. That, however, wasn’t the strongest of contests and more is needed. She’s an each way player if doing so but others are preferred for win purposes.
