Performer Of The Week – 7/1 Coronation Stakes Contender!

Newbury Racecourse

Last weeks racing produced plenty of good performances, with York’s Dante Meeting and Newbury’s Lockinge Day providing us with top-class action. With both the Derby and Royal Ascot just around the corner, trainer’s are starting to send out their leading hopes for the big races and one filly stamped herself as a big contender on Friday at Newbury! All the details are below, with today’s horse racing tips also on site now!

Jubiloso – Coronation Stakes (7/1)

A winner on debut at Chelmsford when just pushed clear, Sir Michael Stoute’s JUBILOSO stamped her ticket to Royal Ascot with a devastating performance at Newbury on last Friday. She looked a potential group horse when making a winning start at the All-Weather venue, coming to her latest start at Newbury with a reputation to uphold.

Sent off a warm 4/5 favourite under a penalty in novice company, she set out to make all and travelled powerfully throughout the contest. Once Colm O’Donoghue asked her to go, she only needed a few strides to power seven lengths clear of the opposition, creating a mighty impression.

That was over seven furlongs and an extra furlong at Royal Ascot will only serve to eke out more from her. She looks potentially top class and a win at the Royal meeting would cement her as just that.

Breeding

A daughter of Shamardal, her dam (Joyeuse) was a Listed winner as a two-year-old. A sister to the useful mile winner Morpheus, with further pedigree linking her to the outstanding Frankel and Group 1 winner Noble Mission.

Target

She holds an entry to the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, currently sitting a best-priced 7/1 second-favourite in the market. She’s looked potentially top-class on both her starts this term and given connections, she looks just the type to keep progressing.
