One week ahead of the Aintree meeting where Nigel is historically so successful and a quiet weekend for the yard as they build up to the big one on Saturday afternoon. On Friday morning Nigel was happy to report that all his big guns remain in good form ahead of next week, and we will be back on each race day with updates of the stables chances at one of the biggest meetings of the year.
Nigel’s Charity Bet
As always, we’ve given Nigel a £25 charity bet to place on a horse of his choice – and this afternoon it will be on……
Templehills 5.10pm Fakenham Saturday
“I can’t say he didn’t disappoint me a little when only fourth to Casse Tete at Warwick last time out with stable companion Cogry one place ahead of him, but he is bouncing at home now and looks in great form on the schooling grounds and the gallops. He does have top weight to carry here and the handicapper could have been a touch more generous but I am happy enough and he looks my best chance of a winner this weekend.”
If Templehills wins, we’ll donate the winnings to the Injured Jockeys Fund!
Ballyarthur 3.40pm Uttoxeter Saturday
“He is a bit of an in and out sort lately and is either brilliant or useless but despite all the relevant tests I can’t find anything wrong and I will just have to learn to live with the occasional frustration. He could win this and do so easily on one of his better days, I only wish I knew for certain he would or wouldn’t be in that sort of form.”
Allthegear No Idea 4.15pm Uttoxeter Saturday
“Everything seems to be in his favour here with the heavy going ideal and the trip of a fraction shy of three miles just what he needs to be seen at his best. He still works as well as some of his younger stable companions and even at the age of eleven he still has another race or two in him.”
Nigel Twiston-Davies will be back next week for his views on his runners as well as on a daily basis for all the major festivals! To see what our tipsters are backing in all the weekend’s races, check out our free daily horse racing tips!
