Fishery Lane Hurdle Tips & Race Preview

IN SUMMARY: Although it wasn’t blemish free and certainly wasn’t simple, there was a lot to like about KOSHARI‘s latest victory. Although lacking fluency at times, he rallied well in the closing stages to take victory and looks a potentially smart recruit for the Mullin’s yard. Although lacking numbers the race is still fascinating nonetheless, with Slowmotion probably the biggest threat to the selection, after brushing aside a Grade 2 field on his penultimate start.

1 KOSHARI – Improving with every run and looked potentially smart on Irish debut at Punchestown last time out beating Bello Conti (2m, Yielding). That was by no means a blemish free run, lacking fluency on multiple occasions, including the last where he almost gifted the race to Bello Conti, but battled back very nicely to assert close home. Steps up in class but if polishing off his jumping he could well be hard to beat and looks an exciting prospect for the very familiar Mullins/Walsh/Ricci combination.

2 SLOWMOTION – Somewhat out of her depth in a Grade 1 latest at Punchestown (2m2f, Good to Yielding), but has to be of interest down in Grade. She brushed her rivals aside with ease at Fairyhouse on her penultimate start in a Grade 2 (2m, Yielding to Soft) and if running like that again she should be in the thick of the action. There is a slight question mark on the ground, as arguably she would prefer it softer but it remains to be seen if this will have an impact on her running.

3 MISSY TATA – Last 3 starts have all yielded easy victories, but they’ve been at odds of 6/4, 8/13, 1/6 and arguably should have been slam dunk victories. This probably her toughest task yet and has to prove that form means something, but with the Elliot team in such fine form it’d be foolish to dismiss her chances.

4 SWAMP FOX – Been in good nick under both codes of late winning 3 of his last 5 races. This by far is his toughest test yet and could well be found out in a race of this calibre, but needs consideration all the same as he really is in form.
