IN SUMMARY: Arriving here on a hat-trick, MARIE OF LYON has been rapidly improving of late and can defy her new mark to take a fourth career success. She won comfortably in this class on her latest start after making all and a five pound rise isn’t going to be enough to stop her going in again with Ryan Moore taking over. The obvious danger is Listed winner Kassia, who wasn’t beaten far on her latest start and will be involved once again.

KASSIA – Course and distance winner last year in a Listed race and she’s run well the last twice without winning. She was beaten only by an improver when second at Salisbury on her latest start and she’s only a pound higher, so she does have each way claims.

EARTHA KITT – Won a Class 2 Handicap at York in June and powered home to be narrowly denied in a Listed race at Pontefract two starts ago. The step up to seven backfired on her latest start but she can do better at this distance and isn’t badly weighted. Key player.

MARIE OF LYON – Has been thriving of late for Richard Fahey, arriving here on a hat-trick after completing a double with a comfortable win at Brighton two weeks ago. She’s only five pounds higher here and still has potential, so should prove tough to beat under Ryan Moore with conditions to suit.

GRAVITY FLOW – Won off two pounds lower back in September 2016, though she’s been decidedly poor in three runs since. She was eleventh of twelve at Chelmsford on her latest start with no real excuses and although she’s fairly treated, she couldn’t be backed with confidence.

UNDER THE COVERS – Has won three times in a busy 2017 for Ron Harris, with her progress halting the last twice since being upped into this class. She was soundly beaten on her latest start in the Portland and she’s up against it here.

PIXELEEN – Won four starts ago at Bath off a three pound lower mark, running well off a pound higher at Bath on her latest start. More is needed in a tougher race but her yard are in great form and she holds each way claims under Adam Kirby.

CLEAR WATER – Course winner, but that was in a maiden back in May 2016 and remains her only success. She was fourth at Salisbury on her latest start which was a good effort, but she was two lengths behind Kassia and a turnaround is unlikely. Others are stronger on this occasion.

RELY ON ME – Won two starts ago over course and distance but off five pounds higher she was held at Salisbury, two lengths behind Kassia. She’ll have competition for the lead here and needs another career best, so she can only be given each way claims.

TUNDRA – Won a maiden three starts ago with the front pair well clear and although she out-run her odds in a Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood, she was then tailed off behind Eartha Kitt at Pontefract in Listed company. Faces a very stiff task off this mark and is best watched.

ROSABELLE – Addition of the blinkers worked wonders on her latest start when she won a Class 4 event at Lingfield in ready fashion. She’s now five pounds higher in a much better race though and could only be given a small each way chance under five pound claimer Joshua Bryan.

MAGICAL DREAMER – Has finished runner-up on her last three starts, beaten at odds of evens on her latest run at Yarmouth. She found little off the bridle that day and is pitched into an even tougher race, so she couldn’t be recommended.

TURANGA LEELA – Won four starts ago at Chester in May, but off her revised mark she’s been well held for Ian Williams. She was only sixth at Ascot on her latest start and this is a tougher race, so off only one pound lower, she needs even more.

ROSE BERRY – Back to form on her latest start when third at Yarmouth two weeks ago, though that was a Class 4 contest. She is on the same mark and looks vulnerable upped to this class, with her only previous run in this grade resulting in her being well beaten off.

MADAME BOUNTY – Two wins in the summer for Ed Walker, though she’s been soundly beaten on both her runs since. She was last at Newbury when last seen after an awkward beginning, with a return to six furlongs fine. Hollie Doyle claims three pounds, but she’s unlikely to be involved.
