5.00pm Ffos Las Tips & Betting Preview 17/09/2017

A mile and a half handicap to close out Sunday’s card at Ffos Las, a competitive looking affair despite the small field. Read on for our expert tip and runner by runner preview.

IN SUMMARY: INCONCEIVABLE is bred to be far better than this level but she has struggled to find the right opening. This is her best trip and it shapes to be her best opportunity to get her head deservedly in front for the first time. Prussian Eagle has a few of his own ideas about the game but he is well treated at present and enjoys this ground, he looks the biggest danger. Bazooka is another who is very well treated on his best, he is hard to trust on what he has shown of late but it would not be a shock if he were to get involved.

1 DOESYOURDOGBITE – Placed off this mark at Chester last year, he enjoyed a productive first campaign over hurdles, quickly rattling up a hat-trick at the back end of 2016. He was found out at a higher grade subsequently but reverts to the flat from a workable looking mark on his jumps efforts. He handles soft ground but has no great record fresh so is probably best watched on his return.

2 PASTORAL MUSIC – Yet to score in eight attempts on turf, he was placed at Windsor on good to soft at this time last year. He has been campaigned over further in 2017 but with the ground on the soft side, a little extra in the stamina bank should be in his favour. He is yet to try ground this soft but his pedigree gives hope that he may be capable of acting on it.

3 PRUSSIAN EAGLE – Difficult customer to win with, he got his head in front at this track over hurdles in June. Soft ground is perfect for him while he stays this trip fine on the level. He has plenty in his favour from a lower mark than he was placed from over this trip in Ireland in 2016. If he is on a going day, he is a big player in this line-up.

4 INCONCEIVABLE – A seven race maiden but she has run up a string of solid placed efforts this season. This is her best trip, coping with the soft ground at Salisbury fine two runs back before she didn’t quite get home over an extra quarter of a mile. She is from a smart family including Group 3 winner Eye Of The Storm and Group 2 runner-up Curbyourenthusiasm. It’s a little disappointing that she hasn’t got her head in front yet, but this is arguably her bests opportunity yet so gets the vote to gain a deserved success.

5 BAZOOKA – Hasn’t won since April 2016 when landing a ten furlong handicap from a seven pound higher mark. He relishes a soft surface, entitled to be sharper now for his recent reappearance after seven months off the track. He hasn’t shown worthwhile form for more than a year but is dangerously well treated if he can spark back into life.

6 EOLIAN – Sole career win came over ten furlongs here on heavy ground in August so conditions will hold no fear for him. That is his best trip however, the times he has run over this mile and a half it has stretched his stamina in the last furlong which has to be a massive doubt under the prevailing conditions. Boasts solid enough form to hit the frame if he gets home but looks an unlikely winner.

7 RAINBOW RISING – Progressing nicely with her racing, she has shown solid form on good to soft ground as well as over this trip when stepped up to a mile and a half on her handicap debut. This trip on soft ground should see her in a better light once more as she continues to mature but she is entered at Lingfield on Saturday so her participation has to be up in the air. Would have am each way chance if she does line up.
