A field of five go to post in this Class 3 handicap raced over an extended 7f. See our betting tips and the full race preview below.
IN SUMMARY: William Haggas has found a good opportunity for HARBA to win and complete a four-timer. She’s raised in grade off a 9lb higher mark, but she could be a cut above these and the booking of Ryan Moore speaks for itself. Rebel Surge can follow her home having had her sights lowered following a tough assignment in a Listed contest last time out.
1 REBEL SURGE – Drops significantly in class following a comfortable defeat in a Listed event at Ascot last time out. She remains 8lbs higher than her last winning mark which came in a Class 4 handicap and she looks weighted to her optimum in this. However, her 3 3/4 length defeat to Sainted at York would give her a strong chance in this so she’s tricky to discount. Her career record of two wins from 30 starts is less than appealing though.
2 SUNCHISETAGIOO – Makes her second start for Marco Botti today and just her second in the UK. She looked to need the run at Newmarket just over a week ago and, whilst this looks slightly easier, she needs to take a big step forward today. A 4lb lower mark will make her life slightly easier, but this ground is an unknown (unraced on better than Good) and she may be best watched today for a yard without a winner from their last 19 runners.
3 BINT DANDY – Chris Dwyer’s mare looks up against it today, giving weight away to all her rivals. She won off a 5lb lower mark at Yarmouth earlier this season and, despite being only beaten a short head at Brighton earlier this month, she looks weighted right up to her best. This is harder than her last start and others hold stronger chances today.
4 HARBA – Seeks her fourth victory in as many starts today after having completed a hat-trick of wins at Yarmouth last time out. She steps up in grade off a 9lb higher mark which will obviously make life tougher, but the yard are flying with a 21% strike rate in the past fortnight and Ryan Moore is an obviously eye-catching booking. She’s likely to be popular in the betting today and it’s easy to understand why. Respected.
5 PEACH MELBA – Mark Johnston’s filly seeks a hat-trick of wins today following two victories on Soft ground recently. She’s been raised 6lbs for the latest of those wins and she deserves her chance in this, although she has proven more effective on Soft than faster ground in eight starts to date. Joe Fanning may attempt to make all on her today and she would be dangerous with an easy lead.
