4.00pm Cheltenham Tips & Betting Preview 18/11/2017

A good field size for this listed bumper with a prize of £11,390. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARYGrageelagh Girl and Posh Trish renew their Aintree rivalry and are probably the form horses however it may pay to look elsewhere and HOLDING PATTERN could be the one on. She ran out a ready winner of a Thurles bumper before bumping into two smart looking colts at Down Royal, further progress would see her bang there. Outofthisworld should also be mentioned as she couldn’t have been more impressive when justifying favouritism on debut.

1 DORY – Was sent off a hot favourite on debut and obliged by seven lengths. She beat two subsequent winners that day so the form looks pretty useful and with further progress it’d be no surprise to see her run a big one despite inexperience.

2 GLENMONA – Ran twice in point-to-points and won one of those before switching to bumpers. She finished second on her sole bumper start so needs to take a big step forward to win this but her yard is in great form and she’s a lively outsider.

3 GRAGEELAGH GIRL – Comes into the race as one of the main form horses having won at Aintree by a nose before being demoted to second for interference. She travelled smoothly that day and has a swing at the weights with the winner so must be on any shortlist.

4 HOLDING PATTERN – Won impressively on her racecourse debut at Thurles by six lengths and looked a horse of some potential. She was only third last time but that looked an extremely strong Irish bumper and further improvement would make her interesting.

5 LADY MARWAH – Sent off 50/1 when seventh behind Posh Trish at Aintree on debut. That was a hot race to be thrown into first time up so she is clearly well regarded and she is entitled to take a big step forward on that, not out of it.

6 MOONLIGHT ESCAPE – Any Gordon Elliott raider should be respected at this track and this mare has improved significantly with each run. She followed up two placed efforts by bolting up last time and there is no reason to think further progress isn’t possible.

7 OUTOFTHISWORLD – Ran out an extremely facile winner of a decent looking bumper at Market Rasen last season. She was sent off favourite that day and an eleven length success signalled big things to come; she should run a big one with natural progress.

8 PINEAPPLE RUSH – Kayf Tara is an excellent national hunt sire so this mare makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and the combination of Hobbs and Johnson is no negative. This is however a hot race to make your debut in and she’ll need to be very smart to win.

9 POSH TRISH – Changed hands for a hefty sum having hacked up in a Lemonfield point-to-point and began to repay her price tag when awarded the race at Aintree last time. She is open to plenty of progress after just two starts and the form of her last start looks strong; big player.

10 PRESENTING PEARL – Has made three starts in bumpers to date and got off the mark at the third time of asking at Ludlow last time. This is a hot bumper however and she has plenty to find on form if she is to be winning this.

11 ROSE OF CIMARRON – Looked very green on debut but was sent off a short price that day and followed up when winning by eight lengths in a canter last time. She’ll need more to take this but she is open to any amount of improvement and shouldn’t be discounted.

12 SECRET ESCAPE – Finished a respectable fourth last time in her hat-trick bid and that was under a double penalty so can be upgraded. She has a swing at the weights with Posh Trish today and could get closer but will need to take a step forward nonetheless.
