A small field Class 4 handicap hurdle for a prize of £4,549. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.
IN SUMMARY: CLEMENCY certainly hasn’t set the world alight since joining Donald McCain but has showed definite signs of promise and today could be her day in an open race. Green Or Black and David’s Phoebe are both unexposed and rate the main dangers.
1 HINT OF GREY – A moderate flat performer who has had her fair share of attempts over timber and has proved to be a consistent performer. Has struggled slightly of late but this is probably an easier level of race than she has been contesting and no surprise if she goes well.
2 GREEN OR BLACK – Has made just three starts over hurdles and although yet to win, has finished in the first three on each attempt. A mark of 109 doesn’t seem too harsh considering she was 74 on the flat so she has a good chance to go one better than last time on handicap debut.
3 DAVID’S PHOEBE – Makes just her third appearance over hurdles today having already had two close misses in novice company. She has showed plenty of potential and a rating of 108 doesn’t seem unfair on what she has done, big player on handicap debut.
4 GINGER FIZZ – Followed a course and distance win with a couple of tame efforts but seemed to be right back to form when beaten under two lengths last time out. She races off four pounds higher than her last win still but is still feasibly handicapped and should run her race.
5 CLEMENCY – Switched from the Nicky Henderson yard to Donald McCain in June this year and has yet to cross the line in front. Ran a nice race on her third start for the yard so clearly has potential and this doesn’t look the strongest of races, can go well.
