IN SUMMARY: SUNBLAZER ran a big race last time having looked completely out of sorts in a few starts before and can build on that to take this, 2014 Cesarewitch winner Big Easy is theoretically well handicapped and can put it up to the selection.
BIG EASY – Has showed patchy form for most of 2017 having had a long break during 2016, had plenty of ability once upon a time given that he won the 2014 Cesarewitch off a five pound lower mark than he is currently on, won earlier this year and a repeat would see him in the mix.
SUNBLAZER – Bounced back to form last time after a couple of disappointing runs with a very encouraging performance, if building on that he should be bang there come the business end considering he is allowed to race of the same.
MEDBURN CUTLER – Hasn’t won since June 2016 which doesn’t inspire much confidence but he is on a reasonable mark considering he has been second off one pound lower three times this year, largely consistent and no surprise to see him run his race.
AYR OF ELEGANCE – Has won three times in her twenty race career to this point but all three of those victories have come at Lingfield in lower grade handicaps than this, she isn’t completely discounted but may find this a bit tough.
GRACEFUL LADY – Won four in five earlier in the season and has improved massively rising seventeen pounds in the handicap since May, hasn’t been disgraced in her recent starts and will appreciate the handicapper dropping her a pound; considered.
NELSON’S TOUCH – Bumped into some high class mares such as Daphne Du Clos and Fayonagh in bumpers and is relatively unexposed on the flat having had just three starts, hasn’t run overly poorly in any of those and should go well.
LOST THE MOON – Has showed all his best form to date on an artificial surface and has been beaten out of sight on her last three starts, comes here with a lot more to prove than most of these and can be overlooked.
WAITING FOR RICHIE – The only one of these to come here off the back of a maiden victory at Newcastle, stays the trip with no problems and will love the underfoot conditions so it would be a surprise if he wasn’t involved here.
SAVED BY THE BELL – Hasn’t won for a long time but switched yards recently and has run with credit on both starts for trainer Lawrence Mullaney, Harrison Shaw is a capable claimer who takes off a valuable seven pounds and he should run well.
