3.25pm Chepstow tips for Tuesday’s Class 3 race. Small in numbers but this novice chase has plenty of depth with five of the seven rated 130+ over hurdles. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: DUEL AT DAWN was placed at Grade 2 level as a novice hurdler but has always looked as if he will be better as a chaser. He has no stamina queries over this trip like Wait For Me does. Philip Hobs horse didn’t jump well on his recent chasing debut, a comment that also applies to Knight Of Noir.

1 WAIT FOR ME – Given one of the rides of the season to land a novice chase at Worcester last time. He made a number of errors there, the step up to three miles should allow him more time to measure his fences. but he is unproven over the trip.

2 DUEL AT DAWN – Stayed this trip well over hurdles, he was third in the Grade 2 River Don at Doncaster. Connections reach for first time cheekpieces on his chasing debut which is interesting with this more galloping track looking sure to suit him well. the one to beat.

3 GENERAL BUX – Showed promise on his debut in 2015, not seen again until the final few days of 2016 at this track. Should make up into a winning chaser in time, but this is surely far too deep for him to get involved at this stage of his career.

4 KNIGHT OF NOIR – Five runs over fences, he hasn’t taken to the discipline as well as connections will have liked. Runner-up at Worcester last time was by far his best effort but his jumping still lacked confidence, will need to do better here.

5 ROCK ON OSCAR – Progressive novice hurdler, he has been out of action since his chasing debut in May 2016. Stamina for this trip is unproven, has been free going in the past which would be a concern on his return.

6 THE LION DANCER – Improved with experience in point to points, winning on his most recent start. The eight length fourth there was beaten from a mark of 94 in a Uttoxeter handicap chase. That gives him a mountain to climb.

7 MORELLO ROYALE – Solid three mile hurdler, she took the scalp of Polly Peachum in a Listed three mile event in 2015. Hasn’t looked a natural in two chases thus far, best watched until she shows she can cope with the bigger obstacles.
