A competitive looking listed race for fillies and mares with a prize of £22,684. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.
IN SUMMARY: ALZEJEERA ran a lovely race when a valiant second in a Group Two last time out and this lightly raced filly can go in here. Wingingit, Dubka and the progressive Daphne rate as dangers in a competitive race.
CAPRICIOUS CANTOR – An outsider in a field of this quality and understandably so, has plenty to find on ratings with the market principals and hasn’t recorded a victory since her maiden, will most likely struggle again in this grade.
COLONIAL CLASSIC – Not disgraced behind Frontiersman last time out off a lengthy enough break but was still beaten over ten lengths and the balance of her form leaves her with a chunk of improvement to find if she is to make her presence felt here.
DAPHNE – A progressive sort who is on a real upward curve of late, she followed a good second with two wins and the second of those was franked by Weekender who went on to finish first past the post in a listed race next time; very interesting.
DUBKA – Has been running to a high level of form all season and was probably slightly disappointing when down the field in the Ebor and when sixth in the May Hill, her effort at Glorious Goodwood reads very well however and she has a solid chance.
NOTICE – The lowest rated in this field and has it all to do on paper, she’s beaten in handicaps off marks in the low 80s of late and hasn’t won since she was rated just 72; she is likely to find most if not all of these too good.
PACHARANA – A rating of 94 leaves her slightly short of what you’d think would be needed to win this but it is always dangerous to discount a filly in form and she is certainly one of those having won three of her last five supports; each way chance.
ALJEZEERA – Ran a strange but eyecatching race when third in a listed race at York and confirmed her promise when a well backed and brave second in the May Hill at Doncaster, that is one of the best pieces of form on offer and she probably has more to give having had just four career starts.
WINGINGIT – A fascinating contender who is one pound clear strictly on official ratings, her three length defeat by Desert Encounter on stable debut reads well in this company and with further improvement likely she should be on any shortlist.
