3.00pm Ffos Las Tips & Betting Preview 19/07/2016

Our race preview takes a look at a competitive handicap at Ffos Las with several runners potential improvers and others having a point to prove. Read our betting tips below to find out about a horse who will love this step up in trip and who a big run is expected of.

IN SUMMARY: Yorkee Mo Sabee looked much improved on comeback and 6lb rise is fair for a win that came without much fuss. TOPOLOGY also ran well latest when making good late headway to finish 3rd at Windsor. Going up in trip will only suit and is tipped to progress further and could take all the beating. Raising Sand wasn’t disgraced from a wider draw latest on handicap debut and can’t be taken lightly debuting for new connections.

1 GUIDING LIGHT – Was a progressive sort last year but hasn’t gone on since winning at Chepstow last July (7f, Soft). Seems to love Chepstow so his poor performance on comeback was all the more worrying. Needs more to take this.

2 RAISING SAND – Wasn’t disgraced when finishing 5th from a wide draw at Doncaster latest (7f, Good). Debuts for new connections today and since that last run was his handicap debut he is very interesting runner. Will go well but giving a lot of weight away which is a concern.

3 AIR OF YORK – Has won off of this mark in the past, albeit on the AW when completing a hat-trick in December. Not at his best recently however and his turf form has been quite questionable at times. Is weighted too well to ignore however and could go close.

4 YORKEE MO SABEE – Gelded while on break and that clearly has done him the world of good as he romped to victory Carlisle latest unchallenged (8f, Good to Soft). That was a very good comeback and cannot be ignored as seems to be weighted well as 6lb rise is seemingly fair. Hasn’t had long to recover from that outing however which could be the only concern.

5 DESTROYER – Not quite living up to his name in recent times, his last 2 efforts not as inspiring as his win at Sandown 3 starts ago (7f, Good to Firm). Handicapper seems to have his measure and usual cheekpieces are dispensed with for this outing.

6 MIDNIGHT RIDER – Tumbling down the weights recently, blinkers sparked a better effort latest when 3rd at Chepstow (7f, Good). Is weighted very well if going back to his efforts last year, he’s had long enough to do that however. Millman’s yard is going reasonably well in recent times so discounting him could be dangerous if sparking back to life.

7 TOPOLOGY – Made good progress toward the end of his last race at Windsor latest (6f, Soft) so being upped in trip will only help. Ran badly only other time at 7f, but that was on debut so can be discredited as he’s run much better since. Wont mind the cut in the ground and a big effort is expected by Tuite’s gelding.
