Emily Gray was just too strong for GITANE DU BERLAISwhen the pair met at Carlisle in November but the emphasis was very much on stamina that day, and that favoured the Kim Bailey-trained mare. Gitane Du Berlais is 5lb better off today and, on this easier track, is expected to gain her revenge.

EMILY GRAY – Dug deep to overcome Gitane Du Berlais in a Listed contest at Carlisle (2m4f, heavy) in November and ran to similar level when second at Doncaster (2m4f, good to soft) the following month; slightly disappointing over 3m last time but still commands respect.

GITANE DU BERLAIS – Outstayed by Emily Gray in a gruelling contest at Carlisle (2m4f, heavy) in November but is 5lb better off with her old rival here and proved her wellbeing when making all in another Listed contest at Naas (2m, soft) this month; leading contender.

KASSIS – Won a run-of-the-mill handicap at Bangor (2m4f, heavy) in December, her second start over fences, but was comfortably held off just a 1lb higher mark at Market Rasen last month and has a lot to find in this company; tongue-tie now added.

KILRONAN HIGH – Fairly useful when on song and won’t be far away if matching the form of her eased-down handicap success at Southwell (2m4f, soft) in December; however, she fell on her next outing and ran very poorly at Cheltenham when last in action; others safer.

ROSA FLEET – Stayed on well to win 3m handicap at Southwell in November but has a rather patchy record since switched to fences and even her best form is some way below the standard likely to be required here.
