2.40pm Worcester Tips & Betting Preview 17/10/2017

2.40pm Worcester tips for Tuesday’s Class 3 race. A field of eight go to post for this 2m 4f chase, with several useful types on show. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Song Saa ran well in a valuable race at Haydock when last seen and she goes well fresh, so she’s a leading contender for her top yard. Preference is for PEMBA who is still a maiden in this sphere, but she’s been unlucky not to get her head in front and was clear of the rest in second when last seen behind a front-runner. She won’t mind this step up in distance and should be very tough to beat off the same mark as her latest run with the headgear on.

1 TWENTY EIGHT GUNS – In good form towards the end of last season, though her current mark of 128 is stiff and she was well held off two pounds higher at Sandown in March. She goes well fresh and conditions are fine, but she does need some help from the handicapper.

2 SONG SAA – Rapidly improved towards the end of last season for Tom George, last seen finishing third in a valuable race at Haydock in April off a pound higher. She now drops in grade on return and ran well on her seasonal debut last year, so has to be respected.

3 BON CHIC – Inconsistent sort for James Moffatt who finished second at Cartmel in August, keeping on well behind a runaway winner. She’s not handicapped out of things off the same mark and has solid each way claims as conditions are perfect.

4 PEMBA – Has been well backed on most of her chasing runs, unlucky not to get her head in front yet. She was behind a horse who made all on her latest start, well clear of the rest and she’s on the same mark. She won’t mind this step up in distance and should be taking this in the headgear.

5 VIKING MISTRESS – Arrives here in good form, finishing second here over 2m 7f back in September. She’s versatile in terms of trip so won’t mind this step back in distance and, with her current mark not harsh, she is a leading player for Martin Keighley.

6 PRETTYLITTLETHING – No stranger to winning, with three victories from 10 chasing starts. She was well held on her latest two starts though and was struggling from three out at Cartmel when last seen. Better ground should help, but she likely needs some help from the handicapper.

7 SHEER POETRY – Made her chasing debut at Newton Abbot when given an impossible task, now has a much more realistic chance. That said, she was struggling off today’s mark over hurdles and she’ll need more to be taking this. Should be other days for her, but this is a tricky race.

8 RAKAIA ROSA – One win from 20 rules starts, last seen at Southwell finishing a well held fifth earlier this month. She’s out of the handicap here and, with this being an even tougher race than her last, she’s best watched.
