IN SUMMARY: Plenty arrive here in good form with the last time out winners including Gracious JohnPerfect Pasture and Tomily. The former looks a big danger but ready preference is for CLEM FANDANGO, who ran brilliantly in two Listed races the last twice for Keith Dalgleish. She was only beaten a length when last seen and off a mark of 99 on her handicap debut, it’s very hard to see her getting beaten.

SPIRITUAL LADY – Three wins from four starts as a two year old for Phil McBride, including at Listed level but she has been well beaten on both her starts this season. There have to be doubts now and others are readily preferred.

PERFECT PASTURE – Finally got back to form when winning a very competitive Doncaster Handicap last month, getting up by a neck. He’s only three pounds higher here and remains well treated on the best of his form, so has to be respected.

CLEM FANDANGO – Good efforts at Listed level the last twice for Keith Dalgleish, not beaten far when last seen at Musselburgh. Makes her handicap debut here off a mark which isn’t harsh and a big run is on the cards or more specifically, a winning one.

GRACIOUS JOHN – Course and distance winner who won well at Leicester on his latest start, with that race being hugely competitive for the grade. He’s up five pounds but has been much higher in the weights and won this race last year. Has to be respected as a big danger.

TOMILY – Another who won a competitive Doncaster Handicap last month, four pounds higher for the half a length success. He isn’t one to back up a good effort though and more is needed off today’s mark. Others are higher on the list this time around.

GREEN DOOR – Form has become very patchy for Robert Cowell, failing to back up a good effort at Leicester when only sixth at Catterick last time. Yet to win in 2017 and the percentage call is to avoid despite the fact he has his ground.

HOOF IT – Ten year old who is still more than capable at this level, finishing fourth behind Perfect Pasture at Doncaster when last seen. He tends to run his race and shouldn’t be far away again with a similar display, though others appeal more for win purposes.

ATLETICO – Has been well held of late since winning at Windsor in July, finishing sixth behind Tomily on his latest start at Doncaster. He has to race off five pounds higher here and his claims aren’t obvious on these terms.

CLASSIC PURSUIT – Won with plenty in hand when taking a Nottingham Handicap on his latest start, but that was in a Class 5 company and he races off 28lb higher today. Impossible to fancy.
