.10pm Navan Tips & Betting Preview 13/11/2016

IN SUMMARY: A tight little race with only the 5 runners and Gordon Elliot is twin handed and with the trainer in scintillating form recently his two are not easily discounted. Wakea ran a personal best when laughing off a mark of 125 when winning at Down Royal 8 days ago and could well be up to making it 3 in a row however the selection is Le Martalin who has been visually impressive in winning a flat race and on hurdling debut for her new yard and will be tough to beat with hopes high that he can take this on the way to some bigger targets later on in the year.

Labaik – Peculiar sort when on the flat for Owen Burrows refusing to race on two occasions but has made a seamless switch of yards and impressed on hurdling debut scoring by 5 1/2 lengths in a 9 runner Novice Hurdle at Punchestown 31 days ago. Could be any amount of improvement in him and jockey and trainer could not be in better form at the moment.

Le Martalin – Moved to Noel Meade’s yard last year after running in a Point-to Point when trained by P M Doyle. Impressively won a 9 runner flat race at Listowel in September before being snapped up by Gigginstown. Won easily by 17 lengths on hurdling bow at Galway  and lines up in good shape for this with her trainer going well. Tough to beat.

Mick Jazz – Appears to be stable second string but not easily discounted with trainer firing on all cylinders already this early on in the season. Previously trained by Harry Fry last year before moving to this stable and comfortably scored for new yard in hurdling debut when favourite at Clonmel 17 days ago. More needed against this but dangerous to discount.

Wakea – Comfortably won a maiden hurdle at Clonmel in September by 4 ¾ lengths before running a posting a career high at Down Royal 8 days ago when easily winning a handicap hurdle by 9 lengths from a nice one from the Elliott yard. Looks to have any amount of improvement in him and a big run expected again.

Jaime Sommers – Decent enough hurdler who lost nothing in defeat when a nose second over further at Wexford last time out before running to within 1 ¾ lengths of Missy Tata from the Elliott the time before at Limerick and that horse scored nicely at Nass yesterday. Will find it tough in this company but should run her race again.
