8.10pm Kempton Tips & Betting Preview 27/09/2017

8.10pm Kempton tips for Wednesday’s Class 4 contest raced over 1m for horses rated 0-85. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Mark Johnston’s SENNOCKIAN STAR has been a fine servant to connections and he may be able to add another success to his name in this. Stall 11 is less than ideal, but he’s a full 8lbs below his last winning mark and is a fair price in this. Pow Wow should make a bold bid to complete a four-timer whilst Knight Music can also go well.

1 BATTS ROCK – Struggling to find his level at present having gone well in tougher company than today’s without winning. He was only beaten 1 3/4 lengths in a Class 3 handicap at Newmarket in July which would give him a chance in this, but he does tend to find one too good.

2 REGICIDE – Sole success came in a Class 6 Lingfield maiden earlier this year and he hasn’t quite progressed since. He was beaten 7 1/4 lengths in a similar race to today’s last time out and he has it all to do off a mark of 84.

3 SENNOCKIAN STAR – An incredible racehorse having made his 100th start aged just seven last time out. He’s slipping down the weights after struggling to get his head in front and he seeks his first win since February this year. He’s impossible to rule out now that he’s 8lbs below his last winning mark, although stall 11 does make life difficult.

4 BANISH – Has won just twice from 16 starts, however one of those did come at this track over a furlong shorter. He was held off this mark last time out but he’s fallen to a more workable rating. James Doyle remains in the saddle so he’s worth keeping onside.

5 ELYSIAN PRINCE – Dual code performer having won over hurdles earlier this season at Southwell. This is his first start on the flat since January, but he’s only 2lbs higher than his last winning mark on the All-Weather so it would be unwise to rule him out entirely. Others make slightly more appeal though.

6 KNIGHT MUSIC – Made his seasonal reappearance earlier last month having been off the track for nearly a year and he should improve for that run. A mark of 79 leaves him 5lbs lower than his last winning mark, however that did come in a weaker contest than this. Harry Bentley remains in the saddle.

7 BALABOUR – Lightly raced sort making just his seventh career start today. He has been beaten by wide margins on his last few starts since breaking his maiden tag, but this grade is more realistic and the booking of John Egan catches the eye. Interesting.

8 POW WOW – Goes in search of his fourth consecutive win today having switched yards to Martyn Meade from Roger Charlton. He won his last start by nine lengths and the handicapper understandably raised him a full 10lbs for that success. He’s on good terms with his elders and should make a bold bid for another win.

9 CRY WOLF – Remains a maiden from nine starts and he has been beaten on wide margins this season, including over hurdles. He’s not been seen since May and makes his handicap debut on the flat off a tough enough mark of 75. Best watched.

10 SPORTING TIMES – Closely tied in with Batts Rock on form having finished behind that runner two starts ago at Newmarket. He has since been beaten a long way and the handicapper has nudged him down 2lbs in the weights which will help. Jim Crowley takes over in the saddle.

11 SPECIAL RELATION – Has encountered a stop-start career to date following lengthy breaks between runs at times. He was last seen winning a five runner Pontefract handicap and he’s been fairly raised 5lbs for that success. There was strong market support for him that day and he’s worth close attention in the betting again.

12 SAUMUR – Slightly more exposed than a few of his rivals making his 20th career start today. He was beaten 3 1/4 lengths last time out over 1m 4f at this track and he has plenty to find here off the same mark. Luke Morris rides him for the first time and market support would be significant.
