IN SUMMARY: There are plenty of likely runners in this tight contest and it could pay to take a chance on LANDING NIGHT. He’s on a stiff mark of 77, but there’s the possibility that he might improve switched to the All-Weather and he looks overpriced here on the back of a forgivable run last time out. Tallinski is his main threat with plenty of improvement to come for a yard in form.

HENLEY – Has struggled off marks in the low 80s recently and he remains 2lbs above his last winning mark. Conditions should suit, however he doesn’t look to have much in hand and others are preferred in this.

APROVADO – Course and distance winner who can be forgiven for a poor run on Soft ground at Thirsk last time out. He’s back on to his last winning mark which makes him dangerous here and he should go well in ideal conditions.

SINGEUR – Makes his 91st start aged ten today and he’s best opposed in this. He’s been dropped a couple of pounds following a moderate run at Doncaster last time out and, whilst he appears to be well handicapped, he’s beginning to regress now.

MUSHARRIF – Has been in fairly good form of late with a few competitive efforts in decent enough handicaps. He’s switched to the All-Weather for the first time since last summer and he’s yet to place on the surface, so he may be best watched again today.

SCUZEME – Lightly raced sort who makes his first start since May following a comfortable defeat in a Class 4 event. He’s of interest here given that he won a course and distance maiden with ease earlier in the year and this could be the right place to restart his career.

LANDING NIGHT – Has run to a consistent level since late last year with a couple of wins and placed efforts. A mark of 77 looks stiff enough in this, although he’s won twice on the All-Weather in eight starts and may show some improved form following a less than impressive effort at Chester last time out.

TALLINSKI – Another lightly raced sort who has performed with credit on the turf lately with a couple of placed efforts. He makes his first handicap start on the All-Weather today and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa looks positive so he commands respect.

STRAIGHTOTHEPOINT – Off the track since July following a fair effort behind an improving sort. The drop back to the minimum trip is negative, with all three wins coming over 6f and he’s going to need things to fall perfectly in this. Opposed.

ANCIENT ASTRONAUT – Another runner yet to win over the minimum trip and he makes just his second start on the All-Weather today. He looks moderately well handicapped following some competitive efforts off a slightly higher mark than this. Interesting.

DUNDUNAH – Lightly raced sort who will have to improve to come out on top here. She won and placed on the turf in a small purple patch in July, however she’s not followed up that form on her last two starts and a mark of 74 looks high enough for now in this grade.

PENNY DREADFUL – Won a Class 5 handicap by a 3 1/4 length margin in August and she was punished with a 7lb penalty. That looks enough for the opposition she beat and she couldn’t follow that effort up in a similar grade to this last time out. Opposed here.

BONDI BEACH BOY – Should improve for his first run in nearly a year last time out at Chester. He looks as if he will need this run as well having been beaten a long way and a mark of 71 may still be beyond him at this stage of his career.

DUKE COSIMO – Attempts 5f for the first time in his 39 race career today. He’s slipped down the weights of late and a fresh low of 69 does make him of interest, although this trip is questionable and he’s best watched on the back of that.

LADY CRISTAL – Steps up in grade today and she races off a light weight, with her three-year-old allowance taken into account. She has a bit to find on form with her rivals and she may be best watched here, although market support would make her of interest off a three month break.
