6.45pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 10/11/2017

A Class 4 fillies’ sprint for a prize of £4,852. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARYFRUIT SALAD was only risen three pounds for a game win over the minimum distance and the way she won that day implied an extra furlong would suit, she can take this ahead of the consistent Penny Pot Lane who comes here in good form.

1 CASHLA BAY – A lightly raced filly who was second to the useful Eartha Kitt on debut before breaking her maiden at the second attempt. She has been disappointing this season when beaten at odds of 1/1 and 5/2, needs to bounce back here but that is certainly possible.

2 TILLY TROTTER – Was trained by the great Dermot Weld once upon a time and picked up two wins on the all weather at Dundalk for him, hasn’t set the world alight since joining Declan Carroll but is talented and a revival isn’t out of the question.

3 VEENA – Won two handicaps by the narrowest of margins back in February and although she has not won since she doesn’t look badly handicapped off a mark of 78. If recapturing her form from earlier in the year she can go well here.

4 FRUIT SALAD – Won by a neck last time and has been raised three pounds for that but only got up in the dying strides there over five furlongs and the extra furlong looks sure to suit, the handicapper hasn’t been harsh and she should run her race.

5 PENNY POT LANE – Has been running well recently on the turf winning two of her last four starts and wasn’t beaten far in her two latest runs when third and fourth, hasn’t had as many tries as some of these on the all weather but should go well regardless.

6 ECONOMIC CRISIS – Has a first and a second to his name in his last two starts but was beaten six lengths on his latest start having been put up three pounds in the handicap for a neck victory, needs to take another step forward today.

7 NUNS WALK – Runs in a Class 4 handicap for the first time in her career but has two wins and three seconds to her name after just seven starts and remains with potential, she is consistent and should get involved once more.

8 FRENCH – Has won twice in her career but seemed to be in the grip of handicapper as of late having been well beaten three starts in a row, has been freshened up but will need to find some improvement if she is to win of this mark.
