A field of thirteen go to post for the second race of the evening at Kempton on Wednesday. See our betting tips and full race preview below.

IN SUMMARY: The way that SUNBREAK travelled and kicked clear on Nursery debut at Chelmsford last week was very impressive and he should have no problem dismantling this field under a penalty. A drop back in trip is not going to be a problem for him and he’s clearly ahead of his mark under this penalty, so can make light work of these rivals under Joe Fanning. Panophobia looks likely to fill the second spot for Richard Fahey.

1 SUNBREAK – The switch to handicaps and the mile trip paid dividends on his latest start at Chelmsford as he readily came clear to win in good style. He never looked in danger from the front, kicking clear with authority and this step back in trip will cause him no problems. He looks ahead of his mark under a penalty for Mark Johnston and should win this race with something in hand under Joe Fanning.

3 JO’S GIRL – Showed some promise in a few of her maiden/novice runs for Jamie Osbourne, but she was soundly beaten on Nursery debut at Leicester on her latest start, never better than the rear division. She’s now three pounds lower but needs to up her game against some in form rivals. Hard to see her taking this unless she improves markedly from seemingly nowhere.

4 TRANQUIL SOUL – Improved with each run in her maidens for David Lanigan, which made it all the more disappointing when she could only manage a well beaten fifth at Ffos Las on Nursery debut. That was on the turf though and both of her starts on the grass have been her worst, so a return to the all weather looks sure to suit her. She won’t need to improve much to score off this mark and looks a key player.

5 GALACTIC – Son of Roderic O’Connor who showed a fair amount of ability in his first three runs before disappointing on Nursery debut, though he looked like a non-stayer on his first try of the mile trip. He’ll be much happier back at this distance and he remains with potential for better on all weather debut, with the all conquering Hollie Doyle taking three pounds off his back. He looks sure to play a role and has to be considered.

6 LAURA KNIGHT – Has finished runner-up on her last two runs for Gary Moore, getting desperately close on her latest start at Wolverhampton when coming home too late. She’s three pounds higher here which is a niggling concern, but she should relish this extra furlong. With connections in such good form, she couldn’t be discounted for the placings under Pat Dobbs.

7 PANOPHOBIA – Improved effort on Nursery debut when third at Musselburgh in August and he had viable excuses when sixth at Epsom on his latest start, having a poor passage through. He is capable of better than that on all weather debut and should be winning races anytime soon for Richard Fahey. Adam McNamara takes three pounds off his back and he looks a surefire each way player.

8 GRAFFITISTA – Showed some ability in three runs for George Scott thus far without setting the world alight, with her latest fifth at Windsor a fair effort, but she was still beaten some way. She wasn’t hard pressed that day though and a mark of 63 on Nursery debut looks generous as she should relish this step up in trip. Kieran Shoemark takes the ride and if the money follows her to Kempton she is all the more interesting.

9 OUR KID – Won on the all weather on debut for Richard Fahey but he’s failed to recapture that form since on the turf, labouring on nursery debut at Nottingham in August. He would be happier back on this surface but has plenty to prove now, with connections relying on a change of headgear and new trip to help spark things. He doesn’t look like the Fahey first string on jockey bookings but couldn’t be discounted for the placings.

10 COULDN’T COULD SHE – Showed sparks in maidens for Adam West and she was making some small late gains when fifth at Lingfield on her latest start on nursery debut. She now is upped back to seven furlongs and down in class, so she couldn’t be discounted for each way terms under Royston Ffrench. That said, she needs improvement to be winning off of this mark and that isn’t guaranteed.

11 GIVE EM A CLUMP – One of the more experienced runners in the field with seven runs under his belt, winning a seller three starts ago at Thirsk. He has run to fair form in nurseries the last twice for David Evans, although he’s not threatened to trouble the judge and does need further improvement. He looks vulnerable to an improver today and looks set to miss out.

12 REVENGE – Competed in some tough novice races and maidens for Tim Easterby before making his nursery debut on his latest start at Wolverhampton. He finished fifth, three lengths behind Laura Knight, but that was after a layoff and he should strip fitter here. He’ll also appreciate the step up in trip and, with connections in good form, he’s one to consider.

13 CATCH THE PIGEON – Has failed to catch the eye in all her runs thus far, finishing no better than fifth and she was still well held on the best of those efforts. Further improvement is needed as her two nursery runs thus far are not enough to see her winning a race any time soon. Others have far more convincing claims on this occasion.

14 MISTY BREEZE – Has shown very little in three runs so far for Paul D’Arcy, well held on each occasion and her latest run at Chelmsford was particularly underwhelming. She needs the headgear and switch to nuseries to have a drastic effect and it’s hard to see it happening to such an effect that she’ll break her maiden here. Dismissed.
