A field of nine go to post for the sixth race of the day at Ffos Las on Tuesday. See our betting tips and the full race preview below.

IN SUMMARY: It is now four wins from eight starts on the flat for MOABIT, who only needed to be pushed out to win at Salisbury two weeks ago. He has only been raised five pounds as a result which is extremely fair as he looks progressive and has the ever improving Megan Nicholls taking the ride. Conditions will suit and he looks tough to beat in this field, with the chief danger looking to be Catcher On The Go.

1 SOURIYAN – Lightly raced six-year-old for Peter Bowen who is better known for his exploits over obstacles, though he has lost his way of late and was well beaten when last seen at Ayr. He was last seen on the flat in France way back in May 2014 and this looks a tough ask from a mark of 85 as we don’t really know what he’s capable of on the level. Hector Crouch takes the ride which is positive, but others make more appeal.

2 STERNRUBIN – 143 rated hurdler who has done well since being switched to the flat by Philip Hobbs, winning once and going close on all three of the other occasions. He was last seen at Sandown where he was third to an improver and only beaten by a length, with him consequently being raised three pounds. He still remains capable of better in this sphere and another bold bid is likely under Kieran Shoemark, so he has to be respected.

3 CATCHER ON THE GO – Won a Class 4 handicap hurdle on his penultimate start for Evan Williams and he made a successful switch to the flat on his latest start when comfortably winning a maiden here over the 1m 3f distance. He gets an opening handicap mark of 81 which isn’t harsh and this 1m 6f trip is likely to bring out further improvement as he won over the 2m 4f trip over hurdles here. Conditions will suit and he looks a huge player under Sam Hitchott.

4 MAYASA – Won three starts ago in July 2016 in a Class 5 handicap, but he was well beaten in two subsequent Class 4 events. He was last seen at Wolverhampton in October 2016, where he finished 11th after weakening tamely and he now has something to prove on turf/stable debut for John Flint. It’s not hard to look elsewhere and others are readily preferred.

5 MOABIT – Five-year-old for Paul Nicholls who made it four wins from eight flat starts when comfortably claiming a handicap victory at Salisbury in July. He’s been raised five pounds as a result and is raised in class, but he remains with potential in this sphere and is clearly progressive. The improving five pound claimer Megan Nicholls takes the ride and he looks set to follow up in good style.

6 NABHAN – Won a course and distance handicap on his penultimate start and, despite a five pound rise, he was only narrowly denied over the two mile trip here in July. His mark remains unchanged and a step back in trip will suit as he was only headed late on over the two mile trip. Timmy Murphy takes the ride and, with conditions to suit, he has each way claims for Bernard Llewellyn.

7 TAKBEER – Won at Newbury in July with a game front-running performance and he made a bold bid for a double when second at Haydock, not allowed the lead which damaged his chances. That was only on Friday and this is a quick turnaround against some rivals who arrive here fresh. He has each way claims under the in form Charlie Bishop, but he’s likely to find at least one of these too good.

8 THISTIMENEXTYEAR – Made it third time lucky when gamely winning under today’s rider at Lingfield in maiden company, pushed out under hands and heels to go almost pillar to post. He makes his handicap debut off a mark of 80 and has plenty of scope for progress, with this step up in trip clearly in his favour. Jenny Powell takes a very useful five pounds off his back and he’s another to consider with conditions to suit.

9 VEILED SECRET – Inconsistent three-year-old for Sir Mark Prescott who found a great opportunity on his latest start at Yarmouth six days ago, making no mistake to win by 12 lengths and he is well in under a penalty today. That said, this is a tougher race and he won’t be getting a soft lead. He does hold leading claims, but can be taken on under Luke Morris.
