IN SUMMARY: BIG PENNY looks to have plenty more improvement in the tank on her win at Bangor when last seen. She is lightly raced and while she needs more on her handicap debut, she shapes as a more suitable type for this trip than either Follow The Bear or Robin The Raven who both would appreciate an extra half a mile. Arthur’s Gift produced a career best three weeks ago, but with that being his first run for almost two years, the bounce factor is a concern.

1 FOLLOW THE BEAR – Stepped up to three miles to break his duck, looking in need of that trip once more when failing to cope with a speedier rival at this trip last time. Turned over at 1/14 there, he should be stronger this season but would appeal far more over further.

2 ROBIN THE RAVEN – Comfortable winner of his first two hurdle starts, he looked in need of his recent return to action over this course and distance. There was no disgrace in that defeat, but he is another for whom further would be ideal.

3 OLD HARRY ROCKS – Hasn’t really gone forward after winning over this course and distance in May. Failed to beat a rival home on his handicap debut when last in action in August from this mark. That leaves him with a little to prove on this occasion.

4 BIG PENNY – Showed a great attitude when getting back up having been headed last time. She needs a little more on her handicap debut on that bare form, but she is lightly raced and looks sure to improve on what she has shown.

5 BURROWS LANE – One of the more exposed in the line-up, he took a long time to get off the mark. The drop back to this trip will suit having not got home over three miles last time, but with stronger stayers in here, he may prove vulnerable late on once more.

6 PSYCHEDELIC ROCK – Appreciated the better ground on moving to this country, getting off the mark at the first time of asking. That was over two miles at this track but he has failed to go on since, twice turned over at short odds. Needs more to land this.

7 NEMEAN LION – Lucky to win when last seen, having looked a non stayer over three miles. The return to this trip looks a big plus under suitable conditions. Looks to have a fair starting mark for his handicap debut, so could outrun his price.

8 AMIRR – Solid effort on his return from a long break, but has failed to go on from that in a pair of runs since. Nothing in his pedigree to suggest the step up in trip is what he wants so looks best watched.

9 FOCACCIA – Nine race maiden, he has shown solid form, finishing runner-up on four occasions. Connections add both cheekpieces and a tongue strap in a bid to coax a little more from him with conditions to suit.

10 ARTHUR’S GIFT – Produced a career best when returning from a long absence last time, shaping as if the step back up to this trip would suit. That was only three weeks ago, so this quick enough return has to be a concern.
