3.30pm Windsor Tips & Betting Preview 16/10/2017

3.30pm Windsor tips for Monday’s Class 4 race. A mile contest for fillies and mares, this looks deeper than your average 0-80 race with a number of these boasting some smart form. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: KITTY BOO will have her confidence boosted now that she has got her head in front for the first time. The change to forcing tactics was a huge factor so a repeat looks likely from the front. Killay looks sure to improve now stepped up to a mile having won over a stiff seven at Salisbury, she represents the main danger. Finale has progressed well this summer and while her recent second hasn’t worked out well, she still looks capable of better.

1 HIDDEN STEPS – Has got tired late on in her races over further, including when taking on Enable in the Cheshire Oaks. Her dam was a dour stayer so that is something of a surprise, but she is bred to be better than this level. Returns from a hundred days off.

2 KITTY BOO – Got off the mark at the seventh time of asking in a Chelmsford maiden. She appreciated the switch to positive tactics, dictating her own fractions on the front end. With her confidence now sky high, she can revert to handicaps with another win.

3 FASTNET SPIN – A pair of recent wins on heavy ground has pushed her to a career high mark. She has plenty of form on a quicker surface so the ground holds no fears but this clearly demands more of her.

4 KILLAY – Broke her maiden at Salisbury over seven furlongs but found that test insufficient at Newbury on her handicap debut. She will appreciate this first try at a mile, while the handicapper takes a chance leaving her mark unchanged for a yard in great form.

5 FINALE – Progressed well this summer granted sufficient cut in the ground, her worst effort on good to firm at Brighton. The form of her recent Sandown second hasn’t worked out well, but she remains progressive and capable of better.

6 LA CELEBS VILLE – Struggled since picking up a pair of Haydock handicaps to kick off her season. All the six frame runs of her career have come at that track so she always has to be treated with a note of caution when appearing elsewhere.

7 ALWAYS THANKFUL – Another who wouldn’t want to see the ground dry out anymore, both wins in 2017 have come with plenty of cut in the ground. She has won over a mile but is arguably better over seven, needs a little more again.

8 CLEF – Heavily campaigned as a juvenile, she has struggled to get close to that form so far this season. She ran better last time when runner-up, but that race had a huge bias towards those up with the pace so needs taking with a pinch of salt for now.

9 SANDY SHORES – Won a lesser contest in fine style over this course and distance in August. Despite being strong at the finish there, she failed to stay ten furlongs subsequently. Better returned to this trip last time, but she will need another jolt of improvement to score.

10 ARCTIC FLOWER – Rattled off a four-timer on soft ground within a month in the summer. Struggled badly in two starts since, she looks handicapped to the hilt from out the weights here at a deeper level.
