3.30pm Leicester Tips & Betting Preview 17/10/2017

A good quality looking sprint for a nice prize of £15,563. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: GOLDREAM, a dual Group One winner, can take advantage of this drop in class and go in to contest Vibrant Chords who is almost certain to make a bold bid.

1 JUST GLAMOROUS – A classy performer on his day who broke a streak of poor form when a shock 33-1 winner of a listed contest last time out. If he is truly back to form then a mark of 109 is reasonable as he was 114 as recently as May. One to consider.

2 GOLDREAM – A winner of the King’s Stand and the Prix de L’Abbaye in years gone by who has continued to run well in the best company throughout his career. He drops to a handicap for the first time since 2014 and he may well be too classy for these.

3 MIRZA – Another high class veteran who has run well this season, including when beating all but the brilliant Battaash home in the Coral Charge at Sandown. A repeat of that effort would see him go close again in a trappy race.

4 PIPERS NOTE – Well beaten last time when 17th of 20 at York over a furlong further. That run was less than inspiring and he has never won off a mark this high; it is likely he finds at least one of these a bit too good.

5 VIBRANT CHORDS – Won back in May at Goodwood and is 8lbs higher now than he was then, but seems to be improving all the time and continues to hold his form. He was a solid third in the Portland last time out and a repeat would see him go close here.

6 JUMIRA BRIDGE – A reliable type who has only one blot on his recent résumé and has hit the frame or won six of his nine career starts. He is steadily progressing and his close second off 1lb lower last time reads well here; considered.

7 GREEN DOOR – Was beaten just a length off 1lb lower three starts ago, but has really gone off the boil the last twice when beaten out of sight in two handicaps no more competitive than this. On that basis he is risky and others are preferred.

8 GRACIOUS JOHN – Was only three-quarters of a length behind Jumira Bridge who will likely start a much shorter price. Based on that he is worth a second look, despite being a better horse on the all weather, he is reasonably handicapped and has an each way chance.

9 SOIE D’LEAU – Has been in good form lately winning two starts ago and that effort was surrounded by two very respectable runs. He has won off this mark before and will like the cut in the ground so should be on any shortlist.

10 TAEXALI – Has only won once in his 27 career starts which was a very long time ago. Difficult to make any case that he is well handicapped all things considered and it is more than likely he’ll find a few too good.
