3.15pm Epsom Tips & Betting Preview 01/10/2017

3.15pm Epsom tips for Sunday’s Class 3 race. A very competitive field of six go to post for this middle distance handicap. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Preference is for FAST DANCER, who has been running consistently well since his last win and deserves another victory. The two races he’s competed in the last twice were more competitive than this and he wasn’t beaten far when last seen, keeping on very strongly at the death. He goes on softer ground and a mark of 84 is by no means beyond him at his best. The main danger is Native Prospect, who has finished second the last thrice and should fill that position again today.

1 OASIS FANTASY – Losing run dates back to May 2016 and he’s had plenty of chances since, last seen at Sandown well beaten a Class 2 Handicap. This is easier and on the best of his form he has solid claims off such a low mark, but he’s extremely risky and isn’t guaranteed to run to his best.

2 EMENEM – Won here over the mile distance back in April, but he’s now fourteen pounds higher and was well held off this mark when eighth at Kempton four days ago. His sole run of softer resulted in him being well beaten and it’s best to look elsewhere here.

3 KHARBETATION – Upped to this trip at Pontefract when last seen on softer ground, given the run of the race out in front. He finished third, beaten five lengths and this is a tougher task for him. He’s an each way contender if building on that, but he won’t be getting a soft lead here which hurts his claims.

4 FAST DANCER – Won at Bath four starts ago and he’s been running well since, finishing fourth in a competitive race at Sandown when last. He’s one pound lower here and will relish a return to soft, so should be very tough to beat as this mark is not beyond him by any means.

5 SPARTE QUERCUS – Sauntered clear to win a Class 5 Handicap at Chepstow in September, running well off six pounds higher when second at Sandown two weeks ago. He’s lightly raced and there is likely more to come, but the form of the yard is of concern and he looks confined to the placings.

6 NATIVE PROSPECT – One win from twelve starts and he’s finished second on five of those starts, including the last thrice. He did little wrong when narrowly denied at Chester when last seen and although he’s a danger, his strike-rate makes him opposable today.
