3.10pm Goodwood Tips & Betting Preview 27/09/2017

3.10pm Goodwood tips for Wednesday’s Class 4 contest raced over 1m 2f for horses rated 0-85+. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: ZZORO had a gelding operation last month and that could finally set him on the right path having shown enough ability for this grade. He could provide some value at the prices with Martin Dwyer booked against Lunar Jet who lingers on a low weight off what could be a nice mark.

1 ZZORO – Makes his second start following a gelding operation last month. He’s left in Class 4 company today and he could have something in hand in this grade given that there still appears to be more to come from him. Of interest in this for a yard that has winners here.

2 ME TOO NAGASAKI – Lightly raced three-year-old who is on good terms with his older rivals in this. He was only beaten half a length by Surrey Hope in a Class 4 Sandown handicap off 2lbs lower and he looks set to improve again and should go well. This is his first attempt at 1m 2f.

3 PENDO – Has yet to produce anything like his best over 1m 2f and John Best’s runner looks up against it here. He’s back to his last winning mark (77) but that came in a weaker event than this and others race off better terms today. Best watched.

4 MR RED CLUBS – Has won just once from 26 starts on the turf and a mark of 77 leaves him weighted up to his best. He wasn’t beaten that far in a decent event at Chester earlier this month and he should give another good account, but he’s vulnerable to a couple of improvers.

5 TURNPIKE TRIP – Arrives here in search of a hat-trick of wins following two victories on Good to Soft ground. Conditions should be in his favour again today as will the 1m 2f trip so there’s plenty to like about Henry Candy’s runner. His three-year-old allowance leaves him well treated against his older rivals.

6 ZAMPERINI – Last win came off a 9lb higher mark back in July 2016 in a better race than this. There have been signs of a revival in form lately, especially on his last run at Sandown when only beaten three lengths so he’s of interest in this. Market support would be significant.

7 LADY VALDEAN – The likely pace angle in the race and she arrives here on the back of a 1m 4f success in France last time out. She has plenty of improving to do to win this off a mark of 79 and Silvestre De Sousa rides Road To Dubai instead, which has to be a negative given that he has ridden the horse previously.

8 ROAD TO DUBAI – One pound lower than his last run when fourth over 1m 4f at this track. He’s only 2lbs higher for a course and distance success earlier this year and he should go well considering that he still looks to be improving for George Scott. Could be plenty of market support.

9 LUNAR JET – John Mackie’s son of Ask remains a maiden from eight starts, but he races off a featherweight in this and he was only beaten 1 1/4 lengths in a Class 4 Newmarket event last month. He’s only been raised a pound for that and he could be on good terms today in these conditions.
