2.50pm Taunton Tips & Betting Preview 01/11/2017

2.50pm Taunton tips for Wednesday’s Class 4 race. A small field for this staying chase, with good to firm ground the order of the day. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: LIMONCELLO travelled notably well for a long way on his seasonal return over hurdles. The five year old looks a chaser in the making and can take advantage of a race full of exposed types. Charlie Mon got the better of Copperfacejack when they met at Huntingdon in May. He should confirm the form at these weights, though perhaps finally getting his head in front last time will help the confidence of the latter.

1 COPPERFACEJACK – Off the mark last time at the twenty-first time of asking. That was his first try on this good to firm ground, staying on too strongly for the field at Towcester. Stamina is his strong point, this extra distance will be needed on a sharp track, a strong chance nonetheless.

2 LIMONCELLO – Placed in a point to point on good to firm, his form under rules has been a little disappointing. Should make a better chaser, he travelled well for a long time on his seasonal return last time. First time blinkers are fitted now, interesting contender.

3 CHARLIE MON – Beat Copperfacejack at Huntingdon in May, weighted to confirm the form. He scored again last time stepped up to this trip. He is more comfortable going this way round, needs a little more from this mark, but should get the run of the race in front.

4 THAT’S GONNA STING – The step up to three miles saw him off the mark last season, unable to follow it up here on good to firm. That might have come too quick, but the same combination of track and ground on his chasing debut does mean he needs to find more.

5 CLAY ALLISON – Showed little over hurdles, a few glimmers of form at three miles on decent ground. Bred to make a better chaser so can do better, with Olly Murphy having made a quick start to his training career. Needs a big jolt of improvement to take this however.

6 CULM COUNSELLER – Strong but quirky stayer, a pair of recent wins have pushed him to a career high mark. Has a lot of ground to make up with That’s Gonna Sting on a hurdles run here last December, requires improvement to get his head in front once more.
