2.40pm Epsom Tips and Betting Preview 1/10/2017

A hot looking conditions race which brings in some decent form and some very unexposed potential improvers.

IN SUMMARY: DEE EX BEE had a big reputation coming into a Goodwood maiden and lived up to it, he won in an impressive time and could be tough to beat on ground he likes. The Revenant poses the main threat having made a very pleasing debut which he could certainly come on for.

1 DEE EX BEE – Became a bit of a talking horse after a taking debut win where he posted an exceptional time figure but has been a bit disappointing since returning a beaten fav on his last two starts. Sets a clear and useful standard but could be vulnerable to a more exposed type.

2 MOVE OVER – A rating of 87 leaves him with a lot to find on the face of it and he isn’t unexposed at the trip so it’s difficult to see where the improvement could come from that would allow him to make a serious impact here.

3 REGIMENTED – Didn’t look the most straightforward ride when a beaten favourite on his second racecourse appearance but has since achieved a reasonable level of form, probably needs to find some improvement to get involved, others are more appealing.

4 THE REVENANT – Looked a very bright prospect when a well-supported winner of his maiden and beat a horse who has run well in a decent race since. Open to any amount of improvement and has an excellent pilot to help find it; very interesting.

5 VEEJAY – Racked up a few wins in his short career but found out in more competitive races at Goodwood and when well-beaten at Haydock last time – a mark of 89 leaves him with a fair amount to do to be competitive here.

6 BOWDITCH – Beaten just over two lengths by a smart looking prospect last time out and trainer is excellent with these types but he needs to find a lot as the only maiden in the field, not overly appealing.

7 LISHEEN CASTLE – Beat a horse on debut who was subsequently  second behind Group Three winner Elarqam at York and looked to have a decent future ahead of him. Gets weight from the whole field here and is completely unexposed so generates a fair amount of interest.
