2.30pm Bangor Tips & Betting Preview 31/10/2017

2.30pm Bangor tips for Tuesday’s Class 4 race. Two and a quarter miles ahead of the field here in a tight knit handicap chase. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: ALPINE SECRET went off too hard over further on heavy ground on his chasing debut. He was sent off favourite there so with conditions more to his liking on this occasion, he can get his head in front. Ballycool has done well here in the past and despite the worst of his three runs coming at this trip, he needs respect. The Yank is generally thereabouts and while this trip is probably a little past his best, he should be in the mix for the places once more.

1 DEISE VU – Bold front runner, he will enjoy the underfoot conditions. Has struggled once his handicap mark has gone above 100 in the past and this two and a quarter miles might just stretch his stamina to breaking point.

2 THE YANK – Two miles on a sharp track suits him well, good ground his preferred surface. He has slipped down more than a stone since his peak mark but an eight and a half length third is the best he has done at this trip.

3 BOLD DUKE – Not the most resolute under pressure, he has shown a consistent level of form since being sent chasing. Trip and ground should suit him fine but with a record of 4/50 overall, he is hard to think of as more than an each way player.

4 DIAMOND ROCK – Sole win came over hurdles at about this trip last autumn. He showed a glimmer over this course and distance on his chasing debut last time out. Entitled to come on for that but he will need to if he is to figure.

5 ASTIGOS – Veteran makes his seasonal debut for a new trainer minus any headgear. Has a poor 2/55 record, with his best form all coming on ground with significantly more cut than he is going to face here.

6 ALPINE SECRET – Sent off favourite for his chasing debut, two and a half miles on heavy at Hexham was too far. This should play much more to his strengths with better expected given the support last time. Looks a prime candidate for the money.

7 BALLYCOOL – Winner and second from three visits here, those coming over two and a half miles. His one below par run came at this trip which is a slight concern but with conditions to suit, he should at least make his presence felt.

8 PASSING FIESTA – Two miles on top of the ground suits, but she wins no awards for consistency. Not seen since May 2016, she isn’t hard to pass over on this occasion.
