2.00pm Huntingdon Tips & Betting Preview 05/10/2017

2.00pm Huntingdon tips for Thursday’s Class 4 contest raced over 2m 4f for four-year-olds and above. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: MILE NAUTIQUE can complete a double today for the in-form Alan King yard. He remains fairly treated based on his old form and a 5lb rise in the weights may underestimate the ease with which he won last time out. Witness In Court can follow him home now dropping in grade.

1 WITNESS IN COURT – Looks well handicapped on old form, but he’s been slipping down the weights with good reason lately with mixed form. He drops in grade today which should help and Lorcan Murtagh claims a handy 5lbs. A bounce back to form looks possible, albeit he’s now aged ten.

2 DEAUVILLE DANCER – Yet to display his best form at this trip, although a mark of 122 doesn’t look completely beyond him and the booking of Brian Hughes looks positive. The ground is ideal but others may just be better weighted today.

3 ROYAL PLAZA – Has won just one race from 17 starts and he makes his first start for Olly Murphy today. He still remains on a mark of 122 which looks high enough and he’s tricky to recommend given he remains 3lbs above his last winning mark.

4 FOUNDATION MAN – Completed a double over fences in small field events over the winter on good ground and he’s slipped back down below his last winning mark. He’s thoroughly exposed though and others seem to hold better chances.

5 HONKYTONKTENNESSEE – 10lbs higher than his last winning mark over fences. He bumped into a well handicapped rival last time out which showed him to be on a fair mark still so he should be in contention again today. More is needed over this shorter trip of 2m 4f though.

6 BREATH OF BLIGHTY – Broke his maiden on his 12th racecourse start two runs ago. He couldn’t follow up that success in handicap company off a mark of 118 and a pound drop in the weights looks prohibitive to his chances in this.

7 MILLE NAUTIQUE – Lightly raced over the summer, yet he beat a useful sort off a 5lb lower mark last time out and he looked to have something in hand that day. He remains well handicapped on old form and he should make a bold attempt for the double today.

8 HELIUM – Without victory since completing a hat-trick of wins back in November 2015. He’s a long way below that last winning mark, but he still doesn’t look particularly well treated and a 7lb claimer takes over in the saddle today.
