2.00pm Chepstow tips for Wednesday’s Class 3 race. A field of nine go to post for this highly interesting Novices’ Handicap Chase. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Although fortunate to win his rules/hurdling debut at Ffos Las for Evan Williams back in March, SWIFT CRUSADOR ran a big race nevertheless and will improve hugely for the switch to fences as a Point to Point winner. He has conditions to suit and will cope fine with this drop back in distance, so can make it back to back wins under rules. Muffins For Tea faced a tough task on chasing debut and heads up the dangers with his sights lowered ahead of Capsy De Mee.

1 MUFFINS FOR TEA – Rated 122 over hurdles and he ran a good race in the face of a very tough task on chasing debut at Exeter in October. He should have more to give in this discipline but improvement is needed off this mark. Each way claims.

2 SWIFT CRUSADOR – Irish point winner who joined Evan Williams for £30,000, winning on debut at Ffos Las by a wide margin over hurdles (left clear). He’s very much unexposed and will be much happier now campaigned over fences. The ground is fine and he shouldn’t be for catching here.

3 EDDIEMAURICE – Started to look exposed over hurdles and although he faced a tough task on chasing debut, he was pulled up after multiple mistakes. Others remain with more potential and he’s best watched here.

4 ITSHARD TO NO – Lightly raced over hurdles for Kerry Lee, though his form went backwards after showing promise in handicaps. He makes his chasing debut off a good mark but far more is needed here.

5 CAPSY DE MEE – Didn’t hang around over hurdles but was perhaps disappointing after a good chasing debut when only third at Sedgefield on his latest start. He still remains with potential and a bounce back would be no surprise, so he’s considered.

6 ADMIRAL’S SECRET – Only has five rules runs under his belt and he’s not been seen since January where he was a very poor last at Fontwell. He did show promise before that but he takes a leap of faith to back here.

7 YORGONNAHEARMEROAR – Showed good promise over hurdles for Henry Oliver but his seasonal/chase debut was too bad to be true, tailed off after an early mistake. Now has a new headgear combination on and he may come on for that run, so he has to be respected.

8 THISONETIME – No wins from seven hurdling starts and he was becoming very expensive to follow, well held at Fontwell on his latest start. Should make up to a decent chaser but he can only be given each way claims.

9 AIR DE ROCK – Has run five times since joining Venetia Williams from France, with no form of real note and he was well beaten at Warwick when last seen. It should make a better chaser but is best watched with no form that is worthwhile.
