.20pm Lingfield Tips & Betting Preview 14/11/2017

.20pm Lingfield tips for Tuesday’s race. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Plenty of potential improvers in this lineup but the one with the form in the book is the Nigel Twiston–Davies trained JABULANI who has placed in both starts this season and arrives here race-fit unlike some of his rivals. He ought to be good enough to come home in front though Nicky Henderson’s Pearlesque has to be better than we have seen so far and is one to watch for future reference.

ALLTIMEGOLD – Once raced son of Gold Well making his debut over hurdles after finishing tailed off in a Fontwell bumper on his only race to date. Hard to gauge at present bit obviously has to do a lot better, Tim Vaughan stable could be in better form though.

BALLINTARA – Fell in his only point-to-point at Charing and not shown too much in two races in bumpers at Plumpton when a well-beaten third and then Warwick. Likely to do better over this trip and with obstacles but has a lot to prove at present and expected to start at a big price.

BUCKBY BOY – Showed some promise when fourth on his bumper debut at Huntingdon but failed to build on that next time out when a fourteen and a half-length seventh at Market Rasen. Dan Skelton stable are in great form with eleven winners in the last two weeks and likely to do a lot better stepped up to this trip and over hurdles with Bridget Andrews claiming a useful three pounds off his back.

FIRST ASSIGNMENT – Bought for a reasonable £40,000 after winning his only point-to-point at Belclare in Ireland and making his debut over hurdles today. Half-brother to winning hurdler Bridane Rebel and has his first start for Ian Williams, and well worth a market watch on his debut under rules with Tom Scudamore booked to ride.

GLEN ROCCO – Point-to-point winner having his first run for Nick Gifford this afternoon and related to numerous winners headed by flat and hurdles winner Dubawi Dancer. Looks the sort to win a few races over hurdle before going chasing and should run well despite a six-month lay-off.

I AM SAM – Six starts in point-to-points have seen a pair of third places (beaten over ten lengths each time), but he has also been pulled up twice, ran out once, and unseated once as well. Emma Lavelle will have schooled him well for his debut under rules but he looks to have his own ideas and doesn’t look one to trust just yet.

JABULANI – Won a Ffos Las bumper first time out for Nigel Twiston-Davies and has placed in both starts over hurdles with a second at Warwick when only beaten a length before a nine and a half-length third at Cheltenham in a Class Two Novice Hurdle. Down in trip and class today and sure to go close if able to repeat that form today.

OVER STATED – Not seen since changing hands for £80,000 after winning a Bartlemy point-to-point by eighteen lengths in May and makes his hurdling debut for Richard Phillips this afternoon. Was always going to win that day but was helped by the departure three out of his main rival and may well be better over fences in time for a stable struggling for winners.

POTTERS HEDGER – The step up in trip is expected to see improvement from the son of Midnight Legend who has shown glimpses of promise in bumpers with a three and a half-length third to Myplaceatmidnight when last in action at Market Rasen in April. Should go well if race fit after his long absence.

ULVA FERRY – Uninspiring in both races over hurdles so far and beaten twenty-three lengths at Wetherby and then forty-nine lengths at Leicester for Dan Skelton. Now with Chris Gordon he may do better over time but has shown too little on the course so far to be considered in this field.

VOIE DANS VOIE – Placed in both point-to-points in Ireland before changing hands for £95,000 at the Tattersalls Sale in March and makes his debut for Alan King here. His stable are merely ticking over with a 6% strike rate in the last two weeks, but the four-year-old has to be of interest and may well run a huge race on his hurdling debut.

WELL SMITTEN – Three bumper starts saw a promising second to Runasimi River at Hereford in February sandwiched by a debut seventh at Warwick and a below expectation twenty-eight length sixth at Ffos Las when sent off the 9/4 favourite. An interesting option on soft going and the booking of Richard Johnson by trainer Warren Greatrex catches the eye.

ATALANTA’S GOLD – Local trainer Gary Moore sends the unraced daughter of Arcadio here but with a price tag of just £1000, it seems fair to assume she will not be the paddock pick. Stable have a 15% strike rate here at Lingfield over jumps but she appears best watched for now unless the market speaks in her favour.

PEARLESQUE – Top stable in Nicky Henderson who boasts a 29% strike rate with eight winners in the last two weeks, but the daughter of Martaline has shown nothing so far with a seventeen length eight and a nineteen and a half-length sixth at Newbury in her two bumpers so far, leading until weakening in the latest of the two. More needed here but could well improve for the step up in trip.
