.10pm Southwell Tips & Betting Preview 28/11/2017

IN SUMMARY: FORTINBRASS looks to have fallen to a kind mark and Ben Robinson claims a handy 5lbs off his back. He can take advantage of his mark in this competitive heat ahead of Coiste Bodhar who is sinking through the weights whilst market support for Sir Harry Collins would be significant.

ZENOVIA – Won a 6f contest at Wolverhampton off a mark of 55 last month and races off a 5lb higher mark here. Ran poorly at Lingfield last time out in a similar contest when sent off Even money and she represents slim value in this open field off top-weight.

KOMMANDER KIRKUP – 2 wins from 32 starts is a poor record by any standards and Michael Herrington’s runner makes his fibresand debut today. He ran well at Newcastle last month to place off a pound lower mark which entitles him to go well here and he’s certainly not poorly treated at the weights.

MAD ROSE – Sole success came in France on her final start of last year. She’s produced mixed form this year although her placed effort at Goodwood would see her go close here. She’ll improve for a recent outing on her first start for Denis Quinn and the booking of Daniel Muscutt catches the eye. Market support would be significant.

KAABER – C&D winner who seeks to complete a double today following a 3 1/4 length victory last time out. A 6lb higher mark is fair treatment from the handicapper and he shouldn’t be far away again having shown himself to be in blistering form that day.

FORTINBRASS – Lingering 2lbs below his last winning mark and Ben Robinson claims a very handy 5lbs today. He performed with credit over C&D last time out and he shouldn’t be far away off this rating in conditions which are sure to suit.

LLEWELLYN – A winner at this track over 5 and 7 furlongs and he attempts to win over 6f today. A mark of 57 is certainly workable based on old form and he remains just 2lbs higher than when winning well over 5f here earlier in the year. Respected.

BOROUGH BOY – Slowly falling through the handicap now and Derek Shaw’s C&D winner is down a further 3lbs following a 6 1/4 length defeat last time out. There was support for him that day and the market will be significant again today given he’s well-treated.

OH SO DANDY – Second runner in this for Derek Shaw and this runner is an 8-race maiden who was beaten 11 lengths having been sent off 50/1 last time out. He’s yet to place and his form needs strong improvement. Best watched today in this competitive field.

BINGO GEORGE – Sole success from 25 starts came over C&D last month when there was money about for him. He races off a 7lb higher mark today which gives him plenty to answer given he was thrashed twice off a one pound higher mark. Best watched.

TASAABOQ – Had no answer to Bingo George when second behind him over C&D last month. There’s been plenty of support for him recently having been sent off favourite twice and he has run with credit. A mark of 51 remains workable but he’s struggling to get his head in-front in competitive fields.

COISTE BODHAR – Has crashed through the weights this year having started the year off a mark of 68 and now racing off a 19lb lower mark. Luke Morris is an eye-catching booking for a yard that knows the time of day and the step back up in trip to 6f is a positive move. Market support would be significant.

YPRES – Wears an eye-shield for the first time today and he needs something to kick start some improvement on the All-Weather. He was well-held in a much weaker race than this last time out and he’s evidently best on the turf. Best watched again here.

SIR HARRY COLLINS – Has gone well fresh previously and he makes his first start for the Mick Appleby yard today. A mark of 48 could be generous for this 3yo having shown some form in a 6f contest at Lingfield earlier in the year and he’ll be danger if fit off a break.

KENSINGSTON PALACE – 10-race maiden who has shown only a glimpse of form this season. A mark of 47 provides him with his easiest test yet but he’s untried on this surface and the market will guide best in this tricky handicap.
