Jockeys to Follow

Sean Bowen – With six winners from a total of twenty-three rides this year, the most profitable jockey to follow at Worcester is Sean Bowen. If you’d backed all of his rides to level stakes, you’d be in a mammoth £59.25 profit. With plenty of big priced winners, if Bowen is on board, you shouldn’t be put off by the prices. He rides four on the evening, Hillary View (5.20), Kims Diamond (6.20), Rubys Cube (6.50) and Rooster Cogburn (8.20).

Richard Johnson – It can be no surprise to anyone that if you backed all of Richard Johnson’s rides at Worcester this year, you’d be in a profit of £23.50. With six winners from a total of thirty-four rides, his percentage isn’t the best, but it does indicate he has plenty of bigger priced winners like the aforementioned Sean Bowen. Johnson has five runners on the card, Master Sunrise (5.20), Influential Lady (6.20), So Sorry Sarah (6.50), Uno Mas (7.50) and Massini’s Dream (8.20).

Trainers To Follow

Peter Bowen – With Sean Bowen the most profitable jockey, it’s perhaps fitting that Peter Bowen shows the most profit to level stakes as a trainer at Worcester this year. If you backed all his runners, you’d be in a profit of £59.75, with six of his twenty-one runners tasting victory. Two of his horses travel to Worcester on Wednesday evening, Hillary View (5.20) and Rooster Cogburn (8.20), both to be ridden by Sean Bowen.

Alan King – If you’re looking for percentages, Alan King is your man, with five of his seven runners returning to the winner’s enclosure this year. You’d only have made a profit of £6.83 to level stakes, so plenty of King’s ‘good things’ tend to make their way to Worcester. That theory will be put to the test tomorrow with his potentially smart Desirable Court likely to go off at very skinny odds in the 7.20.

Horses to Watch

Dr Dunraven (5.50pm) – Martin Keighley’s seven-year-old has had a fruitful summer at Worcester, winning over fences in June and he was placed over hurdles last time. He clearly likes it here and will be looking for a second course success, though he does have stamina to prove at today’s trip.

Sauvignon (6.50pm) – Back to this venue for the first time since her bumper debut, she ran out an impressive course and distance winner in May, well in command despite hanging badly. She’s only seven pounds higher today and given the connections, plenty more should be on offer.

Desirable Court (7.20pm) – Although she’s not a course winner, it’ll be very interesting to see how Alan King’s representative gets on here. She was a winner on hurdling debut and has bumped into two smart rivals since. She is potentially useful and although we go against her with Settimo Milanese in that race, it’ll be fascinating to see how she goes.
