Wolverhampton Track Stats

Wolverhampton Racecourse

We are back with another myracing sponsored meeting this Wednesday (18th July) with a bumper eight-race card on the All Weather at Wolverhampton. Plenty to look forward to ahead of this evening fixture that gets going at 5:20 and runs right through till 9:05 and there is even a chance the Queen might watching as we’ve got a royal runner in the 8:35!

We will be having Wolverhampton tips and previews through the card with all the races covered runner-by-runner, plus to give you a further helping hand we’ve picked out the best trainer and jockey track stats to help find the winners for Wednesday evening.

Trainers To Follow

Saeed Bin Suroor – Godolphin’s founder trainer loves having winners at Wolverhampton and with a stonking 36% strike-rate (38-105) then punters don’t often go away empty-handed when backing their runners. They’ve got a couple of three-year-olds on the card to look out for – Arabian Coast (6:25) (non-runner) and Fitzsimmons (8:35).

Archie Watson – A yard that are really making a name for themselves this season having bagged fifty-one winners already. The lot of them have come at the All Weather tracks and currently here at Wolverhampton they boast an impressive 31% strike-rate (17-55). Backing all their runners at the track over the last five seasons has yielded a +11.96. They also head into this fixture in decent overall form so their sole runner on the card – Ava The Braver (8:00) – will be looking to maintain these stable stats.

Hugo Palmer – Another leading yard that will be on show and with a 28% record with their runners in recent years at the track that’s a top return. That strike-rate does reduce to 19% if we focus only on their three year-olds but that’s still a fair return. Their three year-old Dragon Mountain (8:35) is their only runner on the evening.

Neil Mulholland – This dual-purpose yard love to have runners at Wolverhampton and over the years have built-up a nice return for backers. They are currently operating with a 19% (16-85) strike-rate here but, more importantly, have an overall level stakes profit of +40.98 at the track. They are well-represented on the card with three runners – Masquerade Bling (5:20), Penny Post (8:00) and Moayadd (8:35).

Simon Crisford – Since joining the training ranks the Simon Crisford camp are another that have been the punters pal here at Wolverhampton. They are currently posting a 24% (17-72) overall record at the track and showing a +5.61 profit with their three year-olds. The unraced three year-old Enthaar (6:55), plus their two year-old Al Mortajaz (5.50) will be their representatives on the card.

Rae Guest – Based in Newmarket, the Rae Guest stable like to send runners here. They don’t seem to have a big string these days but have sent out a few winners this month which underlines the good form of the yard. They boast a decent 23% (9-40) record at the track with their three-year-olds and often excel with their fillies. With that in mind, their Eternal Destiny, who runs in the 6:55, will be looking to enhance those impressive stable track stats.

Jockeys To Follow

Rossa Ryan – Seems to be a man on a mission here at Wolverhampton as this promising apprentice has built-up some impressive stats during his short spell riding here. His handy three-pound allowance is a bonus for connections to tap into and with a 26% (15-58) strike-rate he seems to be getting on the right horses. That return increases to an even-better 32% if we just focus on the four+ year-olds that he rides here. He’s got three engagements to look out for – De Little Engine (5:20), Resolution (6:25) and Percy Prosecco (9:05)

Robert Havlin – One of the older flat jockeys in the weighing room but with that comes bundles of experience. With plenty of rides over the years at Wolverhampton then Robert Havlin often has a good book of rides at their fixtures. He’s fired in 42 winners from his last 230 rides at the track (18%) but look for any two year-olds he’s riding as he’s got a 32% record when getting the leg-up on juveniles at the course. He’ll be looking for more successes with Al Mortajaz (5:50), Emphatic (6:55) and King Kevin (8:35)

Martin Harley – With 375 rides and a nice return of 63 winners (17%) then Martin Harley is another pilot to have on your radar. He also banked an impressive +29.96 level stakes profit for his followers over that time. He’s got three mounts to note – Shifting Gold (5:50), Nakhaytak (6:25) and Laubali (7:30)

Horses To Follow

De Little Engine 5.20 – This four year-old has caught the eye in recent runs after winning at Chelmsford and here at Wolverhampton last time out – the three-timer looks on! Yes, he’s up a big-looking nine pounds from the last of those victories but he won by an easy five lengths and looks to have more in the locker. The talented Rossa Ryan, who has a great strike-rate (26%) when riding at the track, continues in the saddle and claims a handy three pounds again.

Ava The Braver 8.00 – Has only raced four times so there should be more to come, but took a step forward last time when a fair fourth at Chelmsford over one mile six furlongs. Now upped to two miles that should help slow things down and gets in here with a light weight. She’s also from the Archie Watson camp that has a cracking 31% strike-rate with their runners at the track.

Fitzsimmons 8.35 – As mentioned in the trainer stats, the Saeed Bin Suroor yard do very well with their runners at Wolverhampton (36%) and with this horse their only entry on the card now looks worthy of a second look. This three year-old bolted up at Brighton last time out on just his third career start and there should be more to come. Into a handicap for the first time, so more is needed, but looks on a fair mark and it’s interesting connections also put jockey Marc Monaghan on his back to claim a further three pounds. The step up from one and a quarter miles to one and a half miles looks sure to suit based on the way he ran on last time, while the Bin Suroor camp head into tonight’s meeting on a very decent 31% overall record with their runners in the last fourteen days (8 winners from 26).

Percy Prosecco 9.05 – Went very close here last time out – failing by just a head over this course and distance. He gets in here off a two pounds higher mark and jockey – Rossa Ryan – is claiming three pounds as opposed to the five he took off his back last time so overall the horse is four pounds worse off. However, he was hampered during that race so would have surely won with a clearer passage and with Ryan having a 26% (+26.41) riding at the track then this is the icing on the cake.
