Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

Arctic Spas Hot Tubs Handicap Chase (Class 5)
Mercers Court silk

Mercers Court

MERCERS COURT hasn’t won for a while, though he is starting to look very well handicapped and, in all honesty, the step down to this company ought to see the gelding go close. Drumhart is likely to be supported, though there’s no guarantee that the step up in trip will allow him to do better. Huertevent merits respect after his success last time out.

Arctic Spas 20th Year Anniversary Handicap Chase (Class 3)

After winning each of his last two races, One For Billy cannot be discounted, though he may just have found his ceiling. THEO, who has previously won over course and distance, improved massively last campaign, while his recent efforts in stronger company suggest that he should go very well now in a Class 3 race of this nature.

Icebath Handicap Hurdle (Class 3)
Psychedelic Rock silk

Psychedelic Rock

The unexposed Melody Of Scotland merits respect now stepping up in trip, though the one who stands out most at the prices is PSYCHEDELIC ROCK, who has previously gone well in better races over course and distance. A repeat of his close-up second at this venue in June would likely see Ian Williams’ runner go close. With his claimer taking off a handy seven pounds and for a trainer who is in good form at present, the seven-year-old is backed to regain the winning thread.

Coldtub Novices' Hurdle (ARC Summer Novices' Brush Hurdle Series Qualifier) (Class 4)
Monty's Award silk

Monty's Award

Has been tried at a decent level and boasts some solid form, is capable of better and has had a wind operation since last seen.

All Weather Pool Handicap Hurdle (Class 5)

Last-time-out-winner His Dream merits plenty of respect after his success last time out, though the handicapper hasn’t exactly made life easy for him. Big Picture is another to consider on form, but the real standout is BOETHIUS, who’ll race in the hands of the champion jockey Richard Johnson. The form of his win over course and distance win back in July suggests that he should go close, while he continued to run well from revised mark at Stratford last time out.

Tips for Worcester Races

Worcester is one of only a small number of summer jumping tracks in the UK.

Course: A left handed oval of one mile and five furlongs, it features two long straights and easy turns. All the jumps are located on the straights, making it an easier test than many other courses, and meaning our tips will include unexposed horses. The hurdles and fences are portable, making them relatively easy compared to many other horses, so our tips won’t look too unfavourably on previous jumping problems.

Feature Meeting: Worcester’s main meeting is Ladies Day in June, featuring large crowds and competitive fields.
