Tips for Leopardstown Races

One of the best known racecourse in Ireland, Leopardstown boasts both National Hunt and Flat racing. The course features a golf club in the middle of the track, and it also has it’s own pub and nightclub.

Course: All races are run on the same type of course, a left handed, flat one mile six furlong circuit with a three furlong run in. The lack of tight bends or undulations means our Leopardstown tips focus on galloping horses.

Draw Bias: Most races at Leopardstown are run over one mile or further, meaning there is little evidence of any draw bias, despite the races being run around a bend.

Dublin Racing Festival: Leopardstown races plays host to the new Dublin Racing Festival, which takes place in early February and features both the Irish Gold Cup and the Irish Champion Hurdle on the same weekend. Numerous competitors will be attracted to this meeting before going on to compete at the Cheltenham Festival, drawn in by the generous prize money.

Feature Races: As well as the two already mentioned, Leopardstown racecourse features a huge number of top quality races, all of which we have previews and tips for. These include the Irish Champion Stakes, the Christmas Hurdle, the Lexus Chase and the Matron Stakes.
