With an 18% strike rate in the last two weeks the Twiston-Davies yard are ticking over nicely and a small level stakes profit is better than none. He is pretty quiet this weekend but plans are being made ahead of the Cheltenham Festival and we will be keeping you updated as we are told of future entries.

Saturday runners:

El Terremoto 3.00pm Sandown

“This is a really hot race with plenty of money up for grabs but our runner hasn’t done a lot wrong all season with wins at Stratford and Haydock and a good third back at Haydock last time out. He steps up in trip this afternoon but I don’t see that as a problem and he goes on all ground including the soft he is expected to encounter here – I will be surprised if he is far away at the finish.”

Calett Mad 2.45pm Wetherby

“He was a really impressive winner last time out at Taunton over this sort of trip and he must have a great chance of following up this afternoon. He is officially top rated here and I expect a huge run after which we will decide his Cheltenham target between the four mile chase and the Royal Sun Alliance.”

Sunday runners:

Another Frontier 2.20pm Taunton

“The good to soft going here will see him run OK but the more rain the better and a bit more by Sunday will certainly increase his chances. He is working as well as ever at home but may be a touch too high in the weights but he will, as always, try his very best.”

Aldeburgh 2.50pm Taunton

“Unlike Another Frontier he wants better ground and any further rain will certainly hinder his chances of success. Yet to win over hurdles he is potentially well weighted in this handicap and will arrive here fit enough after a few races on the flat.”
