Another busy week at the yard and plenty more runners after a highly successful weekend, lets just hope Nigel can keep up his current strike rate.

A £50 bet will be split to £25 Each Way and any returns given to the Injured Jockeys Fund

Saturday’s Runners

Double Ross and Cogry 1.35pm Aintree 

“Double Ross ran the race of his life last week when third in the Hennessy and I have got to turn him out again before her gets reassessed. It won’t be easy after a race like that just a week ago but he could well surprise if he can repeat that effort. Cogry was brought down last time and deserves a change of luck and I think he is going to like these fences and can’t be dismissed off his feather weight.”

Florrie Boy 2.10pm Aintree

“A nice young horse with everything in his favour, ground, track, and trip all seem right up his street and I am hoping for a big run. ”

Astracad 3.15pm Aintree

“In my view he put up one heck of a performance to win at Chepstow last time out and as he loves it around here I have to be hopeful he can put in another big effort. He has been put up three pounds but I’m still pretty hopeful.”

Ballycross 1.05pm Chepstow

“Taking on Thistlecrack last time was always a huge ask and so it proved, but he doesn’t seem up against anything of that standard here. He jumps well enough generally and looks to have a pretty decent chance off a rating of 133 before his jockey’s claim.”

Mont Choisy 2.45pm Chepstow

“He is a pretty decent horse at home but is inclined to make the odd jumping mistake which can halt his chances. The going and trip all look fine so no excuses there and if he jumps cleanly he could well go a lot better than his price suggests.”

Arctic Gold 1.20pm Sandown

“He seems to have improved at home for his seasonal return and I am looking forward to stepping him back up to a more suitable three miles this afternoon. He won’t be disgraced but to be fair, this is a tough race.”

Belmount 3.30pm Sandown

“A proper jumping sort who gets better the further he goes. Steps up to three and a half miles this afternoon and I am really looking forward to running him and I think he has a great chance of a fourth career win here.”

Sunday’s Runners

Millicent Silver 2.20pm Kelso

“Stays forever and can get tailed off on occasion before coming with a late rattle but she wins her share of races with two out of four so far over fences. Don’t be too worried if she loses ground at the start, this four miles gives her plenty of time to get back in to the race.”

Ballycash 12.30pm Huntingdon

“Everyone knows how much I like this son of Kalanisi and its about time he won this season! Seriously though, he has a decent chance this afternoon and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t put in a big effort off of this weight.”

Oh Michelle 3.00pm Huntingdon

“I own, bred, and train this daughter of Kayf Tara so naturally I would be over the moon if she wins here. She finished second at Ffos Las on her only run so far, and seems to have learned a lot from that and although there look to be some decent horses in opposition, I am hopeful she can put in a big effort and I admit I am very excited and looking forward to the race.”
