Nigel Twiston-Davies – My Runners 21st and 22nd January 2017

With a 23% strike rate in the last two weeks and seven winners Nigel is ticking over nicely and if the frost stays away (sadly unlikely) then he is in for a busy weekend – fingers crossed.

Nigel’s Charity Bet

Bristol De Mai 3.15pm Haydock  – 5/1 Best Odds Guaranteed

A £50 win bet will be placed with any returns being donated to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Saturday runners:

Colin’s Brother 1.15pm Ascot

“He has won his last two races for me and will appreciate the step up in trip this afternoon so I am pretty hopeful of the hat-trick – if the meeting goes ahead of course which currently seems pretty unlikely.”

Crievehill 2.05pm Haydock

“He won his first race over hurdles last time out at Lingfield and he will have to improve again to take a hand here in this class. That said, its a big prize and as I own him, I am pretty hopeful of some place prize money coming my way at the very least!”

Tintern Theatre 2.25pm Ascot

“First time in a handicap for the six-year-old who has won a novice and finished fourth last time out, He seems to be improving all the time and it has to be worth having a shot at this £50,000 guaranteed prize pot.”

The New One 2.40pm Haydock

“We all know The New One. He has won this race twice before though it does look a hotter contest this year, but he comes out best on official ratings and is in very good form at home – I am very happy with him. He will run well and ought to win this for the third time.”

Bristol De Mai 3.15pm Haydock

“I am really good excited about him and now he is learning to settle better in his races he must have a superb chance. He is in as good a form as he has ever been at home and it will take a good one to finish in front of him this afternoon.”

Splash Of Ginge 4.20pm Haydock

“I have hopefully found him a similar race to the one he took over course and distance last time and although he has a bit more weight, he seems to have turned a corner and I am hoping for another big (possibly winning) run this afternoon.”

Sunday runners:

West Torr 2.50pm Hereford

“He does seem a bit high in the weights to me but I have found him a pretty weak contest, and expect him to run well in the circumstances.”

Double Court 3.20pm Hereford

“A bit of a quirky sort he has ability when he deems to use it and has won and been placed in the past. He could go well if he is in the mood on Sunday afternoon.”

Winged Crusader 3.50pm Hereford

“He won so easily last time out at Bangor when making all the running and  I cannot help but be a bit excited about his chances here. He will love the soft ground and won’t be far away despite a ten pound rise in the weights.”

Oh Michelle 4.20pm Hereford

“Bumpers are notoriously hard to gauge with very little if any collateral form, but she has run really well with a couple of second places and in my view is the one they all have to beat.”
