Guide To Saturday’s Racing

Newbury Racecourse

We’re in for a treat on Saturday, with a bumper day of action in store. We have no less than eight cards from up and down the country, with the ITV action coming from three different venues. Newbury hosts their ‘Super Saturday’ and you can get the low down on their feature race of the day with our Super Sprint Tips. Market Rasen’s card is headlined by a Listed Handicap Chase over 2m 5f and you can find our Summer Plate tips on site now. Newmarket joins for one contest and you can find our Aphrodite Stakes tips on site now, alongside all our ITV Racing Tips. There is also the small matter of a Group 1 at the Curragh, with our Irish Oaks tips on site now for another of the season’s classics.

Forever Together at the Oaks double?

The feature race in Ireland on Saturday is another of the season’s classics, the Irish Oaks. A field of seven will take the start, though this does look like a three-horse race on paper. Forever Together won the Epsom Oaks earlier in the season and is looking to complete an English/Irish double. She wasn’t suited by a drop in trip on her latest outing in the Pretty Polly and back up in distance, she looks a formidable force. Ryan Moore once again favours Magic Wand and although she was safely held in the Epsom Oaks, a closer fight can be expected today given the better ground. Sea Of Class represents the British challenge, with this dual-Listed scorer very much a ‘could be anything’ prospect.

Fahey and Hannon clash again for the Super Sprint

Both Richard Hannon and Richard Fahey have had great success in the always competitive Weatherbys Super Sprint. They both arrive once again with strong looking line-ups, with Hannon’s headline act being Its The Only Way, who comes out exceptionally well on these terms. Red Ballons needs to step up on her recent form to be getting involved today, but given Fahey’s record in the contest, she’s entitled to plenty of respect.
