Greyhound Syndicate – Time To Name Our Pup

Back in September we started a competition with all proceeds going to charity to name the new myracing.com puppy before she makes her track debut. The final four names have been chosen and will go to public vote on Saturday night. Our Head of PR & Marketing will be the guest on RPGTV, with myracing.com sponsoring two of the races on the Crayford card. You can find our greyhound tips on the site Saturday evening before 6pm which will include tips for that meeting.

Nearly £400 pounds has been raised for charity, but it is not too late to donate and push up the volume here on Jim Daly’s Just Giving Page. The bulk of the money will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital with part going to Crayford Homefinders who help to give all retired greyhounds the happy home they deserve after they finish racing. The final four names will go to a vote on Twitter on Saturday evening with the winner announced live on RPGTV! So without further ado, the four names that we have to choose from are…

1 – Lilys Gift

Name from James McKinnon and one with a special GOSH reference. Eleven years ago James donated bone marrow at GOSH, the graft for a little girl named Lily was a huge success. A great name and one with huge significance.

2 – Jacobs Fire

Another name with a GOSH link but sadly not such a happy ending. Name from Tony Marsh in memory of his boy Jacob who sadly passed a while ago. As with Lilys Gift, a hugely special name.

3 – Face On A Case

A cheeky name from syndicate member Shaun Griffin, named in honour of trainer Jim Daly’s daughter Jemma. As a present just before Jemma went on holiday, Jim presented her with a brand new suitcase, custom made with her headshot taking up the entire side of the case.

4 – My Little Perky

The myracing bitch is out of a brood called Silverview Perky, so a combination of “my” racing tips and the dam came from Shaun Griffin again, a man who clearly has a knack for a name!

So the decision is down to you, our followers. Which name do you like best? The name will adorn the myracing,com bitch in the racecard when she runs at Crayford.
