Wolfsburg v Hertha – Wolfsburg Win

Sitting in third place and yet to lose a game, Wolfsburg have made a solid start to the season indeed. They are yet to drop points in the league in front of their own fans, and the visit of Hertha Berlin today should present them with another great opportunity to keep up winning ways. The departure of Kevin De Bruyne will no doubt have its negative effect; however, in Julian Draxler they have an excellent replacement, one who knows the league well and should have no problem slotting in. Hertha were comfortably beaten on the road last time at Dortmund, and they could be in for the same fate today.

Eibar v Atletico Madrid – Ateltico Win

Atletico Madrid have started the season in fine form, and although Eibar is generally a tough place to go in La Liga, it is hard to look past the travelling side. Having made a decent start in the league, losing only to Barcelona. On the back of a convincing 2-0 win midweek in the Champions League, the team from the capital should be full of confidence ahead of this one. Eibar lost their last home game against newly promoted side Gijon, and it would be a surprise if they were able to avoid a second straight defeat in front of a home crowd.

Valencia v Betis – Valencia Win

Yet to taste defeat and having conceded only one goal domestically thus far, Valencia are another of the La Liga teams who’ve made a solid start to the new season. Although they haven’t yet won at home, they have played well in their two draws and looks to be a good opportunity to register that first win. Betis on the other hand, while not looking too bad, have fared poorly on their two away trips thus far, losing both, scoring none and conceding six! Admittedly they were against Real and Atletico Madrid, but Valencia are another of the leagues stronger sides, and the visitors could struggle once more.

Cologne v Gladbach – Cologne Win

Three or four months ago, betting against Gladbach would’ve been an ill-advised task; however, after losing some key players in the summer and having failed to capture much in the way of in-goings, the team from the Rhineland have made a dismal start to this campaign, and are yet to pick up a point. On this basis, Cologne – Unbeaten at home so far this campaign – have a guilt edge opportunity to register another home win, and a first at home in the Rhineland Derby for a number of years.

Man City v West Ham – Man City Win

Man City have made the perfect start to the season and are already pretty much everyone’s favourites for the premier league title. Having won five out of five and conceded no goals to date it is easy to see why. West Ham have also made a decent start and currently sit sixth. The main problem for West Ham though is that they seem to be making a habit of conceding sloppy goals; something that surely won’t go unpunished at city. Given this defensive frailty, coupled with the ruthlessness shown so far by City, you’d have to say that the home side should have too much in the locker here.

Hamburger SV v Eintracht Frankfurt – Eintracht Frankfurt Win

Frankfurt will be in high spirits coming into this game, coming off a hugely impressive 6-2 win against Cologne (who we have also tipped in this acca!) and a 4-1 win against Stuttgart. Luc Castaignos leads the line, who they picked up at an absolute bargain thanks to Twente’s well documented financial troubles, and he’s scored twice in both of those games. Hamburger were flatted by the 3-0 scoreline against Monchengladbach, who have totally failed to find any form this year after an impressive season last season, and they’ll find this match much tougher. Frankfurt are very favourable odds and represent good value.

Real Madrid v Granada – Real Madrid Win

It doesn’t take much effort to put forward a case for a Real Madrid win (4-0, 6-0 & 5-0 victories in their last 3 games tells a story by itself) and the odds represent that.
