8.18pm Crayford Race Preview 30/09/2017

Runner-up on both his starts for us so far, Meenagh Mourinho will be looking to go one better Saturday night live on RPGTV. He has all the hallmarks to be a top hound at the track once he has learnt his way around the bends which are much tighter than any he will have encountered when trained in Ireland. Our greyhound tips will be on the site between 5-6pm tonight, looking to finish the month with a BOOM!

8.18pm Crayford 30th September A4 Grade

American Beauty – Slick starter, she does the best of her work when clad in the red jacket. She scored in this grade in July and although her finish times suggest she is flying a grade or two too high, her early pace gets her out of first bend trouble and gets her on the bunny so she always commands respect.

Turbine Tyche – Already 3/6 as she has made her way up the grades at Crayford, the loss of the red jacket could be damaging to her chances. She doesn’t have the early boot to lead up the 1 so her chances look slim up to this class for the first time.

Teddybear Pops – Fascinating runner having gone to the first bend at Drumbo on the 29th of July neck and neck with a certain Meenagh Mourinho. Jose ran the bend better there but Pops came out the next week and bolted up in a top grade sprint. Has a smash break in the tank and looks sure to progress to top grade here, he needs to lead up the 1 dog.

Fitzlerseemytail – Winner at this level back in June, she has won over both this trip and 6 bends since. She lacks the early pace to get involved with a few of these, but any trouble in front would bring her strong running style into play.

Coolruss Geoff – Sent off favourite twice in this grade back in July, he has been away from racing action for the last 8 weeks. He may well need this run to blow away the cobwebs, but he has the early pace and times in the book to be competitive here if he is ready to rock first time back.

Meenagh Mourinho – Interesting to see him in stripes, as his first step from 5 in both his races so far has been to the right. This trap should keep him straighter on the run-up to the first bend, but he has an awful lot of early pace to clear on his inside. Looks a sure fire future winner in this grade on what he has done so far, it will be interesting to see if he hits the lids.

Conclusion

Early pace galore in this contest with 4 of the 6 runners capable of mid 3.50’s which will lead up most grades at this track, let alone an A4. It’s difficult to know who is going to hit the bend in front, we just hope that all make it round in one piece. The 3 is a fascinating runner having run against Jose before, Jose led him up on that occasion and this shorter run to the bend will suit him more than the 3. 5 is a big player if he is ready to roll first time in what looks a really strong A4 with 3,5 and 6 all capable of taking higher order up the grades sooner rather than later.
