IN SUMMARYAUNTIE BARBER hasn’t been at her best lately but has slipped to a workable mark and could run a big one at a price in what looks a winnable race. Choral Clan has had a couple of near misses recently and can also get involved.

CHORAL CLAN – A course and distance winner who was sent off favourite when denied by just half a length last time out. Has become increasingly consistent of late and the handicapper has given him a chance by leaving his mark unchanged, considered.

INTERMODAL – Won a maiden by just a nose but has failed to back that up in two starts afterwards. Has switched from Amanda Perrett’s yard to Jamie Osborne and if improving for the new scenery he has potential to run well.

DANGEROUS ENDS – Won four starts ago at Kempton and has run respectably off revised marks since. Has yet to win over this distance but is clearly in good form and seems to be steadily progressing; should go well.

AUNTIE BARBER – Has won two of his seventeen career starts, the last of those victories coming in March. Races off three pounds lower today than her last winning mark and if turning around a recent run of poor form would be dangerous to rule out.

MULLARKEY – Last won in April but failed to cope with a rise in the handicap on his five starts and has been soundly beaten in each of those runs. Has now slipped back to that winning mark so has potential but needs a revival.

MARAAKIB – Has run three good races in defeat recently and remains on a decent mark. Hasn’t won since November 2015 which is a concern and he’ll need to find a bit more on his recent form if he is to get his head back in front.

WILLIAM BOOTH – Comes into this race a maiden after seven starts but has run respectably the last twice. His form seems to have turned around since joining the Ivan Furtado yard and there might be a race of this nature in him.

NEVER A WORD – Looked as if he was becoming a bit disappointing but bounced back last time with a close up fourth. He wore blinkers that day and they may provide him with the necessary improvement to break his maiden; interesting.

BARTHOLOMEW J – Has been a bit disappointing the last twice but ran a fine race to be beaten just a length off this mark at Yarmouth earlier in the year. Has potential to run well off this mark but needs to bounce back to take this.

MISS DANBY – Looked a certain future winner after finishing second twice in a row but her form has gone downhill since then. A handicap mark of 62 looks manageable based on her earlier form but she needs a revival and is a risky proposition.

MISS MIRABEAU – Has yet to win in eight starts, seven of which have come on the all weather. She has run nicely the last twice when staying on over a mile and with a step up in trip looking sure to suit she should run a decent race.
