Already the fifth race of Droopys Nuka’s career, looking to back up a solid runner up effort from last Saturday night. Our greyhound tips will be up later on tonight but for now, let’s get stuck into Nuka’s task.

7.47 Crayford 8th July A6 Grade

Shirl Tel Franki – A winner in this grade on the 24th of June, she gets a quick drop from the grader, following just a single run in A5. She is still a little close to season to be at her very best but this drop makes her of interest if she is able to repeat her very quick 3.55 sectional on that occasion.

Newinn Na Na – Beaten favourite five of her last six races, she is in danger of becoming a little disappointing. She clocked a 23.72 at the end of June, which would be good enough to put her right in the mix here on another attempt at A6. Should be right there at the end but at the likely odds, she is probably best used as a forecast/tricast mixer.

Fouourenjoyment – Sent off favourite in Droopys Nuka’s race last Saturday but she encountered lots of trouble in the early stages. She had previously won A8 and A7 back to back and as a pup, she likely still has plenty more in the tank. She only recorded 24.01 however in both her wins and is going to need more than that to win.

Pure Peak – Another August 2015 pup, he has walked out the traps each time he has hit the track so far. He has been given a helping hand from the grader, dropping from an A5 into an A6, but he is going to have to trap better if he is not going to continue his record of finishing last in each race.

Droopys Nuka – Not for the first time last week, Nuka showed that she has more than enough ability to win in this A6 grade. She trapped well but just missed out on making the bend, taking a bump in the process. The biggest negative, is that once again she is back in orange. The grader can hardly be blamed as she did move left from the traps last week bumping five, but she hasn’t trapped as well from here as from 6 in the past.

Mystical Wizard – As a general rule, he is a slow starter, but he stays this trip well. He got up in the shadow of the post to land an A7 in June but this grade has been beyond him from a win point of view for a while so looks no more than a tricast mixer.

Conclusion

If Nuka were drawn in stripes, she would have an enormous chance in this field and despite the draw between two dogs who generally lack for early pace, it tempers confidence. The 2 is the quickest in the race on recent evidence but she keeps getting turned over as favourite, which again does nothing to add to the confidence in her. 3 went off favourite in Nuka’s race last time but was behind her on merit, while the 6 turning close behind the leaders would spell danger to all. Overall another tricky task, but if Nuka can come away as well as she does from 6, she should go very close.
