17:45 - Chelmsford City Preview & Tips
ZIPEDEEDODAH shaped as if coming back to form in a better contest than this last time out. A two pound drop and a slide in grade will help with the excellent Nicola Currie taking over in the saddle. Swendab arrives looking for a hat-trick so needs each way respect, though this higher grade means he needs a little more. Berryessa has been in smart form, the three-year-old is open to more improvement than this field so is worth consideration.
C&D winner who won a Class 5 handicap off a 9lb lower mark earlier in the year. He wasn't beaten all that far in a better handicap than this last time out and a 2lb drop in the weights will help. Looks a great each way play.
Dundunah (USA) | J: Kieran Shoemark T: David O'Meara
Sole success came in a Class 5 handicap off a 6lb lower mark in the summer. She's produced mixed form since then but her placed effort at Newcastle last time out entitles her to respect today.
Berryessa (IRE) | J: Sebastian Woods T: Rae Guest
Lightly-raced 3yo who has produced some of her best form lately at Wolverhampton. She disappointed when well-supported last time out and she's worth another chance here with more improvement to come.
Bahamian Heights | J: Jonathan Fisher T: Robert Cowell
A victory and a placed effort on his last two starts sees him enter this race in fine form. He races off the same mark as his placed effort last time out and he shouldn't be far away again with a fair draw in stall 4.
Yorkee Mo Sabee (IRE) | J: Milly Naseb T: Stuart Williams
Makes his second start for Stuart Williams today and he has plenty to do on form. He finished last of twelve on stable debut and a 3lb lower mark doesn't exactly leave him chucked-in on these terms. Best watched now trying 5f for the first time.
Penny Dreadful | J: Paddy Pilley T: Scott Dixon
Usually runs her race and she's produced some solid place form in better handicaps than this in 2017. She's been handed a poor draw in stall 8 which tempers enthusiasm slightly and others provide better value.
Swendab (IRE) | J: Mitch Godwin T: John O'Shea
Goes in search of a hat-trick of wins today having hit a purple patch of form. He's been raised 5lbs for his latest success but that still leaves him fairly-treated on old form. The rise in grade is a slight question mark, however the old adage of following a sprinter in form is often well worth noting.
Red Stripes (USA) | J: Hollie Doyle T: Lisa Williamson
C&D winner and he lingers on a decent enough mark if he can apply himself better in the early stages of his races. He's closely tied-in with Swendab on form and shouldn't be far away. Others look more reliable though.
Mighty Zip (USA) | J: William Cox T: Lisa Williamson
Second runner for Lisa Williamson and he returns off a 155-day break today. He's clearly had some issues having run poorly on his last two starts and he can only be watched on the back of that poor form. He's a winner off a 4lb lower mark.
